The title says it basically!

Since there are millions of possibillities with the brushes and settings...

What are your favorite settings and for what type of painting or effect?

Oh dear, that'll be a tough topic. I'll have to make a settings format that could withstand the many changes you can expect, but then those could totally be shared here perfectly! Great idea for a thread! :geek:

Yeah this should of course lead to that point where we can save and exchange presets and brushes ...

But at this moment it would be interessting to hear/see how one does their settings for what style. Because I am still experimenting a lot and would love to know how others use the brush settings... like for filling, outlinining, etc ..
Maybe we get this rolling ...

LIKE the idea

i am a verve student. a self taught .if my english! is better i explain all of my tests and if my time is free create several tutors and presets. if you ask something about my tests, if i still remember the way or have file i can tell you.

Taron* !
you ride and drive ...
think about now and past ! we can have a temp world about something that we have them now ...
and in future if those must change we adapt to very easy !
past is past and linked to past versions.
we now have 9 brush modes that i think some similar together and may extend in some ways ...
but now have 9 brushes again ...
if i will patient to last version release, i have not my veve experiments ...
you can make a feature that link to each version and save full setting whit version number ...
remember visibility & opacity easy problem ... solved! easy solved. verve is beta & have change & change ...
you can have more experimental features and if them not nice and ok remove and or optional for future...
if verve save e readable text setting/state and a tumbnail with vrv, is very good!
we wait for extendable brush engine ... but before that you need more active users. i am trying as i have time and some other frends ... but verve still unfamous for nothing ! i cant learn for what ... why a preson like me with not master skills and not same language can continue but others silence ...
you know? ... they are waiting for last version ... they are waiting for verve death! but i know a tiny update per week or two week means game not over ! dont worry for update changes... your work is hard but if i am e graphic software coder surprising period may be smaller. use verve before last. take this versions more seriously. verve now is my favorite daily sketcher still. sorry for words* T*

Verve has just been born and I've got every intention to let it mature into a ripe old age!!! ;)
I'm just very busy right now and must prioritize my projects, but I can't wait to take care of Verve's next big leap!

No worries, b!

Well, guys'n'gals, I couldn't leave you hanging, so here's the new version u.20 with saving/loading settings only! BUT it does not include layer settings, because you may want to switch out settings on an existing painting and so on. It wouldn't make sense to overwrite layer settings as of now. But later on I might find a different solution. Maybe including a New Layer with the settings or recognizing that nothing had been painted yet and then overwriting the first layer's settings. Not sure, yet.

I have to expand the brush settings to finally start my real brush engine/interface. This is a bit more work, I'm afraid, but it will happen!

T ... i am not afraid* you can and its easy to start and easier to change : )

& thanks for color saving
but these parameters not loded ... these important too for styles:
dither on/off
some of brush setting:
- min brush size
- brush blending
- brush buildup
- w/e/r
- setting file have a foreign language! if posibble turn to english! and put version number to it
and for layer. one suggestion: ask for reset layers . almost all styles need a one background layer only. or other suggest: make a new background layer after ask.

... i am trying now with 9 ... i have not too time for all styles testing ! ... Thanks really... you are a powerfull JUMPER : )
