I always get an exception access violation when i try to use open after downloading the program... is there any way to fix this. Im really interested in using this for some graphics ideas,

It means you machine can't run Verve, I'm quite sure. Can you write down your computer's graphics card and operating system?
Also, update to latest drivers of your graphics card and potentially update your OS, too!
