Re: Inspirations

HI all,
For Sci-Fi fans: there's a new book on John Harris art, a great british painter (painting on real media, mainly oil).

The Art of John Harris - Beyond the Horizon

Have a look inside here (720p avail.):

I bought the book, excellent quality, larger and richer than "Mass", its previous one.

More resources on John Harris:

Edited:
...and also abstract paintings of his in mixed media ("Secret History Of The Earth" series) with a lot of texture and "bump", which could be as well very inspiring for us Ververs:

Re: Inspirations

Oh yes John Berkey, thanks Tartan, I remember now that I was amazed by the Towering Inferno movie poster from him when i was something like 12 ! And certainly the first Star Wars posters but it is more blurry in my memory.
A good link to John Berkey's art:
http://www.socialphy.com/posts/images-p ... rkey_.html
=> perfect rendering of space ships complexity but very different from John Harris's art as you said. Harris is more minimalist: scarce details, textures suggesting used condition, gigantic subjects but often cropped, tiny human presence... thus Harris relies more on the watcher imagination, and i like that.
