Hey Taron
Ive been playing with the colour pick up mode (shift+control) in which the brush picks up colour from the canvas.
Its brilliant!..I love it! ......BUT...........it appears to disable fluids when you have shift control pressed regardless of where the fluid dial is set? Why is that? Can you please make it so fluids work as expected when the feature is in use? Cuz that would be awsome! :)

In fact it is soooooo useful....may I suggest that it be implemented as a formal brush mode in which any brush can be made to pick up colour from the canvas ( without the need to press the shift control ).

Finally....it would be great to have the option to pick up colour from all layers, as opposed to current layer which is the only option at the moment. That would be great for lifting colour from a photo underneath for example or in my case dropping trees onto a landscape.

Thanks!@#$%^&*
:)

Wow, you've had me confused there for a moment, Stavros, hahaha!
This is a special image brush feature as alternative for Average! You can turn it on/off in this tiny BRUSH IMAGE GUI at its lower right corner. When it's ON, then Averaging ( [shift + control] or selecting the Average mode in the paint action gui down to the right ) will use the color under your cursor to paint the current image with. That does make it a color pickup feature, hehehe, very true. Anyhow, I would have to add more stuff to allow a choice between current layer or all layers. It would almost make more sense, if it were to simply pick all layers. That way you could prepare a color image in the background. Much less messy then.
Anyhow, since averaging ignores the fluids for a reason, I'd have to see how I could elegantly fit in such a change in behavior. Could get confusing?! But it's worth a shot for sure! :ob

Global normal all functions fluids verving but under the Brush itself!

Ufff, I'm so sorry, Pilou, but I don't understand?! You mean, everything happening only under the brush?

Yes but in the screen itself verving! :geek:
So 2 fluidify different actions (can be different following regulates) in the same time! Local (Brush) & Global (Screen) ! :ugeek:
Does it more clear?
Just an idea! :)

HEy Taron
Now Im confused LOL!
If I select the unidentified (hello?) btn in the bot right of brush image gui ( as you suggested).....the image brush acquires volume ( as opposed to just colour)
BUT the shift control pick up colour feature no longer works...instead it just reverts back the colour in the brush images ( even when the "col" btn is not active.) ......just wanted to point that out.

If it's OFF, averaging will act like with any other brush. I think, I might've called this "replace" mode, but I'm not sure... man, my eyes are burning, I'm a little under the weather. :P
So, that's what confused me about your post.
Because, if it is OFF, it doesn't "pick up color", but just average the colors inside the brush radius, like it always does.
But if it's ON, it's actually a very special mode, as I described above there. I think, I have it then also preserve the material amount properly.

Hey, Taron
Can we get back brush bristles preview in brush bias dial?
