Feedback Verve(v0.99v.14)

Here's a highly experimental version... :? ...after seeing this great little tutorial by Nathan Fowkes that zen posted, I couldn't resist to offer what I call a "hue dancer".
It's a little floating dial up there outside the color wheel...(yes, yes, gui is just a mess right now). Dial with care, because the larger the value, the more the hue varies for each new stroke. I've weighted the intensity of variation based on saturation. If you have a highly saturated color, hue will vary less, while low saturation allows 360 degree spectrum variations.

This is a very pleasant feature to have, if you want to create greater vibrance on monochromatic areas, but it overall simply elevates liveliness. You gotta bring some faith, though, if you want to have this on the whole time, hahaha. :?

Just playing with it right now and wants to add my 2 cents.
It seems like it also adds balance, more variations of hues in local color space, of colors with same brightness (value) and saturation. For example, when you paint flowers like i.e. dandelion petals it will add more color variations to chosen starting one (like yellow-orange).
This is great for painting any natural texture like fur, bark, stone etc. even artificial textures like metals. Any texture has this variations more or less accentuated (even boring plastic).
This is great addition Taron! I just looked that video today but didn't even thought of it like you will automate it just like that ;-)
You amazed me again c:!

HAHA! :bounce: ...how I roll! 8-)
Yeah, first I noticed that I already have something in there, which could help create that effect: Brush #9 Hue Variation (parameter that normally is bristle size). If you crank that up and blend, you get a similar effect, but the control is not as nice as it is with the new magic hue dancer! :)
There are a few things I want to explore, though, like trying to find a brightness balance between the hues. This is not easy, because while a saturated red, for example, could vary into darkened orange or purple, a saturated orange could not brighten up red unless it would desaturate that red. It's very, very tricky.
Anyway, lots left to explore, but it's a fun start, I think! :)

You know, when ever something inspires me, I must give it a try. Often it's just me outside, having a smoke and a coffee, dreaming up possibilities. But every now and then I see something or read some feedback and feel super excited to give it a go. :D

I should say: Thank you! ;) :ob

Does this normal ?

With CTRL + Move to the right (or down) on the first "square" Swatch: it is duplicated!
And same on these new squares! ;)
Alt move all of them! So I can fill all the screen of them!
And this is possible for each Square of each Swatch : so a real Breakout game!

And I never remember the changement of Color of a round Swatch! So it's not intuitive somewhere! :)
I persist to say that the round Swatches must be colored by its own color and not by a same grey one! :geek:

I can never tell, whether you report a problem or just having fun.
Currently I do not see any problem with the swatches, but they will get more features, too.

The round buttons represent sets of swatches. Each round button is like a folder and all the squares are swatches, you see?
The colored round field in the top left corner is the moving handle, which also shows the color you've currently selected, whether it is from a swatch or from elsewhere.
[Ctrl] and LEFT MOUSE BUTTON on a swatch (the square pieces), will put your currently active color into that swatch!
Beyond that I have no way of helping you, hahaha...other than: Don't use swatches, if they are too complicated for you! ;)

I've uploaded an hour ago a version with mildly different fluids. I think, I might finally got it really better with the spread of materials along the fluids. Tricky stuff, but it feels a lot more understandable now, I think.

Alas, I am always serious when I repport a problem (for me) even this problem is fun! ;)

Alas, alas, alas even with your last version v14 updated same problem! :o
Is that more clear ? At the start of the program : nothing on the canvas - Just SHIFT + C for have the Swatches
Same problem with only Mouse or Pen Graphic!
When I press CTRL and move cursor and LMB over a square that duplicate the Square!!!
ALT + Move works fine and that move "all" squares" and problem is persisting in this new position!

This duplication don't work when i Move to the Up : if that info can help you to erase this vicious bug!
Don't shown on this animation but duplicate is also active to the left!
The little size 3 little squares appear when I Click CTRL and LMB on an empty space !
Do you want some chocolates? ;) But maybe this duplication is normal ? If Yes, I must train for more understand the concept! I am very old school!
Maybe this is the Key
Each round button is like a folder and all the squares are swatches, you see?

I can lock that, sure, but why would this be a problem, you know?
It's kinda like complaining about a knife that doesn't just cut bread, but also your finger, hahaha... well... don't cut your finger!
But thank you, Pilou, of course I appreciate your feedback! It's always entertaining to see what people do intuitively, haha.

Also, you no longer need to use ALT to move it all. You can just grab the color disk and move it!
I will eventually re-purpose ALT, I think.

is it possible - that one a day or even ver soon, we can use also Adobe swatches? Reading and Writing *.ACO-Swatchfiles? This would be so great :ob :ob

Because you cannot assemble your own colors?
Because you want to continue an artwork out of PS without importing it or insisting that the same base colors are being used as you Verve around?
Because ... I just don't understand. No, unless somebody is interested in converting PS swatches into Verve swatches, which is probably quite easily done, I won't write it, I promise. But I'll help, of course! ;)
