Re: Vervette Fluid Sandbox...

awesome sky Taron,
oh, can't wait to see Vervette coming out,
I'm wondering about how it would be, its features, its GUI, etc.

Pilou, your objects are like from other universe, a sort of limbo thing.

Re: Vervette Fluid Sandbox...

Thanks, guys! :D
I just stumbled upon this cute idea from Borodante on youtube, making a possessed basketball. This was not grisaille, but really painting with colors and some multiply and add and a tiny bit of overlay, but all painted. In fact, I didn't even make a sketch.
One thing I did do, though, was to make a PNG with transparency and then made a separate background real quick. Another great reminder to resume coding for all masking stuff...

Anyway, a fun quickie...

Re: Vervette Fluid Sandbox...

Thanks, Ed! ...for what the sandbox is right now, it's quite amazing to paint with already, but even more stunning to think what will become of it. I'm right now writing the whole thing from scratch with the best possible clean code I can put together. This should make it a whole lot of fun for me to keep expanding it and working out all features neatly with great control. Let's see... :geek: :hyper:

Re: Vervette Fluid Sandbox...

Explored the method a bit differently and did a sort of possessed fruit, haha... but with a bit of practice, it's amazing fun to work the details, too. All one layer, but it's a bit of a W.I.P. at this point...

Re: Vervette Fluid Sandbox...

well rendered Taron, I'm not that dexterous with Vervette sand box, I should try.
Pilou that basket ball seems like an abstract bird to me, flying on a distant sea, amazing
PD: Pilou but I don't understand why you always type "else" before your artworks, do you mean "but"??

Re: Vervette Fluid Sandbox...

Hahaha, I love Pilou's "else"...it's brilliant - beautifully without concept! :hihi:
I do wonder, if his mentioning of "basketball" was feedback to my painting?
But, yeah, I have to make some nice video clips on how to paint with the sandbox. Absolute key to working with it is having your other hand above the keyboard:
1 2 3 4 5
q w e r t
a s
Shift
Control
Space

Once you master those keys, it becomes stunningly natural to paint with it already. Then it's about knowing when to adjust parameters... I should add a recording function for all actions to make some statistic, which parameter I adjust most. Would be interesting, I imagine. :geek:

But all of this will get likely very different with the "real" Vervette.

Re: Vervette Fluid Sandbox...

Boney stuff, Pilou! :D

Ok, I've added another fruit, testing the blending a bit. No doubt, one can develop a pretty fierce groove with this technique! 8-)
