Re: Expect the Unexpected

Hard to know what's going on there, really. Are you sure it's the background color, or is somehow a layer all black?
Could be that there's a memory issue with 15 layers at this resolution already, not clear?! :?

Re: Expect the Unexpected

I would say a memory issue of some sort. Maybe a leak? I am using 1920 x 1148 res. The only issue I had with the black was I couldn't see what I was painting if I was using a darker color. P and L had no effect on it. I worked my way around it by taking a blank layer and shift, ctrl f white on it making sure it was the bottom layer. I discarded it once my underpainting was done. I also cut down on my placeholders and only use one for the layer I am working on. I have the layers down to 9 and no issues saving.

Re: Expect the Unexpected

I have the base done except maybe that tree shadow is too fat :? It will be covered up anyway. Lots of mistakes I am seeing here mainly to do with shadows. Ok, now for the harder part. If no one sees me for awhile it's because I have fed my computer to the wild beasts in the woods next to me.

Mr Sun

I took this much further and backed up when I realized this midway point with all of its imperfections and sketch lines appealed to me more.

Re: Extrapolations

Argh...crash during saving? What was the resolution, how many layers?

Anyway, some nice stuff you got going there! I like the divine character there! :o :ob

Re: Extrapolations

Yes! The last picture "Original Sun" contains very nice transitions on the left side and the divine face in the center. I like it!
The landscape picture "borhani suggestion.jpg" evokes me grain in the summer and haystacks.. Good work Tartan. :ob
