Re: Extrapolations

lol Pilou! Those were the days weren't they? Rick rocks and great tribute to him :) c:!

Heh Lemi :D That could be a lot of fun. I will be going back to it later. I have an idea for it

Still doodling trying to get control of my tools. The first one was fairly random going from grey values in the back and throwing in color. I did it using Lazy Nezumi to help keep my strokes clean and to insert architecture-like elements in an abstract. The second image decided to go it's own way and I had to stop before I completely ruined it.

Re: Extrapolations

Uh, I like the "off color" landscape! :ob
I'll eventually add some guides, too, for straight lines and geometric elements. :geek:
Here to help! :D

Re: Extrapolations

Tartan, the abstract shows what can happen when one let it flow, but your landscape is a real beauty. I love it!!

For some curves etc. you could use a ruler if you want to look less digital. French curve ruler
I use a normal ruler sometimes, but on a cintiq it is easier.

EDIT (tested Autodesk Sketchbook pro - top digital ruler!!)

Digitally Autodesk sketchbook pro has the best approach for rulers. There is nothing better so far - as far as I know. I just have pro 6 without perspective function, but it has a simple ruler, french curves, ellipse and the usage feels really good.

Re: Extrapolations

nice Artworks dear Tartan c:!

and about french curves - I like also the possibilities of Vector or similar tools like the Pen-Tool in Photoshop - would be cool to get this in Verve too :) Artrage did have also some rulers/shapes made by Alpha-PNG - but since I discovered Verve I use artrage very very seldom - ooops c:!

Tartan, it seems you have found a very nice doodling cruise mode ;) c:!
I love how you have blended shadows in last comic page :bounce:

Re: Extrapolations

Thanks guys. One day Verve will have the tools to do the archi abstract in program. I am going to do another one soon and hopefully more in focus and this time adding Verves perspective tool. And thanks for the comments on the off color landscape.

@Taron I can get by until you are ready :) What you are doing with Verve is essentially what a team of programmers would be doing. You should create a company and name it Atlas because you are carrying the weight of a wonderful project. :ugeek: :D c:!

@Knacki I have sketchbook 7 and I have to agree that autodesk has implemented the best in program drafting tools because the usage really does feel that good. Very natural. Using Nezumi feels more awkward but with the proper keys mapped out on a Logitech G 13 and keyboard it is feeling better. :D

@Zero Thanks Zero :) Art Rage was a well thought out program but Verve is much more fun lol. Pen tool in Photoshop rocks! It would be interesting to see vector in Verve also.

@Ovn1 Thanks. Yah. I have been in a cruise mode lately lol. It is tearing down my creative blocks to the point where I can function again :) The shadow blends on that page are my favorite part of it also as I had failed on the previous old man in some very important areas. But that's what doodling is for I think. I went for dialogue that was "over the top" and humorous because of the conflict between character and creator. Sometimes it's best to let the character win heh :D

Goblin Shaman Moth Priestess

Verve reminds me of sculptris in symmetry mode. It's just easy to do character concepts this way. I wasn't thinking when I made the hands brown instead of green lol.
