Re: Extrapolations

Sort of ethereal, kinda electric in a way, these last mountains Tartan
like an aurora boreal somehow just over them, like an effect similar to caustics, some sort of colored light rays gathering in strings over them.
though I would expand that canvas adding more mountains, going for the environmental or landscape look.

Your last character has the look of some kind of gamma ray picture, I saw very quickly his full body version, sort of psychedelic though with sort of vintage look to due to the suit he had? could you upload it again?

Congrats Thomas.

PD: I teach graphic design n prepress, yes it's true, in the process of making a class (gather info about a subject) n expose it, makes oneself got deeper into it.

Thx ed, Could you refresh me on the PD2? But thanks for your comments. its been awhile since I posted in my Verve thread but I wanted to play in the mirror with an image I did. Definitely fun to mess one up. I may prefer this to the original I posted in off Topic :D

Sinister and beautiful indeed.
In addition the mirror image seems to reflect glass character/background. Cool effect c:!

Re: Extrapolations

Full liquid in Verve. I think this is my favorite part of it. You can take an old image like I did. Play with it in different mirrors and create fantastic effects.

Dial Fluidity to 100% uncheck Drying. You can try most brushes but the most effective for this is number 1. They each have different characteristics.

Hit Ctrl W to go into warp mode and preserve the colors. Use shift to experiment with. Tap F5 for fun. If using a mouse start swirling it around until it gets up to speed and see the liquids accelerate. Expand different colored areas by brushing out in shift from the center of the color. use a smaller brush size for the more delicate areas. Have fun trying different things then save. Go to a good photo editor. Play with Saturation, Vibrance, Contrasts, brighteness, hues and push until you have an electric feel with the colors..then you are done... or not :)

YES!! One thing I learned about playing in 100% fluidity is that you can start the liquid effect, then when the randomness/fluid(paint) gets to where you want it, just hit CTRL Z twice; first click freezes the fluid but undoes the effect, 2nd click brings the fluid back to that frozen state. It is such an incredibly powerful & simple way to get beautiful, organic, random fluid effects(specularity, paint height, shadows, etc.) just by flicking your pen towards your goal.

I just recently realized that the keyboard shortcut "f & pull the pen down" actually affects the fluidity amount IN REAL-TIME to fluid/paint that is already in motion... INCREDIBLE!!! BUT THAT'S NOT ALL!!! If you have fluidity at 100%, flick your pen so the paint starts to flow, then keyboard shortcut f (keep it pressed down) you can pull your pen down to decrease the fluidity which affect the pain in real-time - to the point of stopping it all. But here's the surprise - if you then drag your pen upwards, and the fluidity dial rotates towards a high value again, the paint will actually start to flow again, it will resume motion from stationary. I love Verve, I love everything about it.
