As for all the pen rotation stuff: the next version should bring closure to that for sure. :geek:

Yep, that's very cute.

Maybe you would like to play with bristle size and bristle numbers.
Brush #2 and #9 are a lovely tool for that.
Grass is drawn in seconds, leaves too. That would give you little more time to focus on characters.

This scene is worth to get a little slower revision ;)

Agreed. Not sure if my bushes/grass is perfect... or my characters. But here's a little slower revision:

Uh, that's a significant enhancement! Great job! :ob ...the lighting gives the tree such great volume, really nice!

That reminds me! I was going to do shading on the ground as well.... maybe later.

Phhh, you could have done the tree a bit more worse....now I have to train painting trees again ;) :ob
Overall a big improvement!
If you now would like to arrange the background a bit according to your general light direction, not "flat" lighted, I think that would do another step.

There are no wrong or right presets. What is feeling good for you is what is good. I guess we'll have the chance to exchange presets in future versions, but but not now ;)

If you want to add more to the painting, consider putting a giant tree on the left foreground, where you basically only see the trunk and a branch, or so, framing the picture a bit. That would fill that space and create a great deal of depth! :)

Normally there are not so much suggestions on one painting in this forum, Mary.
This shows that your little cute picture hit all of us ;)

Foreground is always a lovely idea, taron.

I guess this little sujet could stand a lot of variations.
From silhouette only up to full massive painting.

I am curious where you'll decide to stop, Mary.
