Hey Mary, Very nice to have you back and grats on your huion. I don't blame you. Cintiqs are too expensive. I think if they dropped price they could sell a lot more. I bought an artist 22 xp- pen pro made by Ugee a couple of years ago. Mainly my issues have been driver related. Right now I can use it with everything except for verve. From Zbrush to Sculptris in 3d to sketchbook pro and photoshop in 2 d it works. Huions were decent a few years ago and keep improving. I think you made a good choice. :D

I will say how I see it:
if I use intuos, then I am a line (focused in the cursor). And I disappear and i feel good with it.
However, when I use cintiq it feels like sitting on a line, what is funny, and the hand turns into a lever / steering wheel / relay and .... it turns out that this hand is a great manipulator which obscures part of the image and I have to "disappear it" as if I had a black dot on my eye.
It turns out that the hand is doing a lot of work and everywhere is far away for the hand (large tablet surface).
Back hurts from looking down ... and thoughts are flying up.

OK! So I'm following the first tutorial again (more closely this time). And so far, this is what I've done (not done yet with the tutorial yet).

Here's without extra "light"

And then here's it with extra "light"

....

Also... even though I was fairly critical of my work, my little poodle mix (named Poof Noodle) kept staring at it, so he must have liked it!! haha

I know I need to do some blending of some of the shadows on the right side of the mountains, and I'll be putting the tree in soon.

I really like the mountains and trees Mary. That foreground came out especially nice. I like the abstracts also. Especially that first one. Beautiful coloring there. c:! :D
