Hah! Thanks Taron!
It was not intentional but yeah, limited palette, higher contrast and a lot of splashing with brush gives that feeling!
I was after all aiming for something tangible if you ask me. ;-)

Thank you guys! :D

Knacki, yes, with colors would be more expressive, I'm sure! It started as sketch and I lost myself in, hours passed (yes hours) and there was no time for more lol! I will try to do it once in color. I'm also interested how it will look like. :ob

Tartan, yes, I was aiming for his lines of character and expression. He has so much characteristic face, very demanding but interesting to paint. ;-)

I think it's my very first portrait at which I gradually worked at whole painting! :D

Here goes one in color to break the silence. :D
A study from black&white photo reference.
Color choice is funny but wanted to play with colors ...lol. ;)
Still missing a vase with flowers and I'm not that happy with outdoors. :(
Just a touch in PS to adjust/fit levels.

REALLY NICE, Zen! Love the insane color exaggeration, still holding on to natural lighting aspects! Fantastic! :ob c:!
And the mountains are gorgeous, carrying the color explosion into depth so gently. Really fun to watch this virtuosity! :)

Break the silence.. sometimes you can meet a little break here.. but donĀ“t worry, we love Verve and Taron and we all try to return back as soon as possible! :beer:

Thank you guys! I really appreciate your kind comments.

@Taron
It's nice to work from black & white reference, because of good chance for surprising result.
General idea is to match tone from the B&W image with color of your choice. ;)

@Lemi
I like this place and people, Verve and Taron too! :D

Here is updated (I would say final lol) version!

Yeah, you've brought the vibrancy into the midground to bind it all beautifully together! GREAT PIECE! c:! :ob
As for the calm pace on the forum, I think, it will pick up again, once I start painting more and make a video with an upcoming version. The next version might just be ready for a nice clip, who knows! 8-)

Thank you! :D
Yes, I also tried with green color for the river, but it didn't worked. The frame of left window simply missed that contrast with blue.
I also tried to fix this "weird distorted" lower part of window's pit, which I painted like that, but also, when it's perfect by linear perspective rules it just didn't worked too;-). I guess painting somehow ignores linear perspective rules (two eyes vs. one eye battle lol). ;-)
Looking forward to your painting, video and next version! :ob
