Re: EB Verve Painter

I extremely like your loose style and the way you focus on detail just where it is needed. Very convincing to look at.
Your travel through concept art is really impressive. I expected you to be more a traditional artist.
Great stuff!!

Re: EB Verve Painter

Yet another WIP, I posted this a whiiiile ago on my FB (I think Zero saw it back then), I left it as it is since then.
the overall tones are two grey (lack of light n shadow)
the pose is somehow stiff n the hand is too masculine
the overall brushstrokes are too soft (lack of dry n hard brushstrokes) (here I have to say I love Verve capabilities to make soft wet passes, but it could improve its hard dry brushstrokes, perhaps its just me not knowing how to use the img brush 0 xD)
I've been doing programing n other duties since then, few weeks ago started ARing again.
Thx Taron for the Verve way of looking digital painting that you gave us.

+1
This is stunning. The hand shows that it's still a WIP, but the style and the portrait itself are already fantastic! c:!
You are certainly embracing what Verve has to offer and that makes me very happy!

Re: EB Verve Painter

I have to agree with Clay and Taron. Stunning is a great adjective :D Yes, more work needs doing on the hand and touch ups but this is great. I love her expression

Re: EB Verve Painter

And the ear needs closer examination, too. Something doesn't quite work there...though, it's a weird one. When you squint, it seems to sit right, but something about the form from the side of the head to neck to ear is so washed out that the shape distorts the perception a bit. Curious to me, but I'm sure your reference will help!

Re: EB Verve Painter

yes Taron, you spotted it, that ear proportion in the z axis is a little bit small,
I would like to have a select and transform tool in Verve to shrink the face a bit.
but I really solved many many things that were wrong in the ref, which was a very close lens distorded bad lit selfie(but w spirit).

Re: EB Verve Painter

Hey Ed,

While Verve doesn't have the resize option on portions of the canvas you do have an alternative that can be a lot of fun. Try the warp mode :) It has saved me a few times, Thanks to Knacki for constantly reminding me lol :ob Man this painting is really worth pursuing. The hand and yes the ear ( part of the touchup I mentioned) To me the hand is a bit awkward atm but once it's fully realized the awkwardness will disappear.

"Ctrl] + [w] toggles "image warp" mode. In this mode your brush warps image coordinates only. Undo only works outside of warp mode, switching between the image before and after the warp. Currently there's no undo within the warp mode, but that won't destroy your image!
- Hold [Ctrl] during painting in warp mode to restore original image coordinates inside the brush radius!" as per Taron

Don't make the face smaller. Make the ear bigger and adjust the perspective.

For just plain fun. go full liquid and dry off. Very fun abstracts!

Keep up the good work! c:!

Re: EB Verve Painter

Thanks, Tartan, I was going to say that, too! The Warp Mode is pretty brilliant, surprisingly fantastic for such little nudges! Just make sure you use Brush #1 or #6!

Re: EB Verve Painter

hey, dear Eduardo - nice to see you an fantastic artwork again. Yes the hand is a weakpoint from you - but I see, that sketchfab.com can help - there are some nice high quality 3D models from hands - there are even scanned models - so you can fit the 3D model over the camview a bit in your perspective :bounce: :bounce:
