Hi, yes - I know what you mean - real world is the best reference, but e.g. if you are living in the mountains and you are far away from the nex ocean/large sea - so you need to trave for painting large sea or looking for photo-refs or making studies from other masters.

Btw. I love that cam (I own an older model from 2010) - if you can get a cheap model - take it - not so good - she is very slow - but great colors / values if you take a photo with good lights or with a tripod.

"Fahrenheit 451" - inspired by the book of Ray Bradbury - with the same name. As Ref - I used 3D, Panzer Cop Jin Roh and so on ...

I used Lots of Alphas mostly done with Photoshop or by Multipass Alpha in 3D, but the overpainting/painting was done in Verve in 99%

That's fun, Zero! I almost wished there were even more movies hidden everywhere, like some silhouettes in windows and such...
Impressive work for sure! :ob

You seem to be as eclectic in your tastes as I am. Everything I read and see here show the hallmarks of a dedicated sci fi/fantasy fan. Well done and I love seeing all the references to past films  c:! :D

Hi, no - I use moi3D, 3DCoat and Silo - but I'm not so good in 3D :D
3D can be very good, but its not good if it slows down the process, but good for e.g. for lot of windows like in my image - or for multiple Objects, like my cars ;)

For the PanzerCop I didn't used 3D - only 3 simple blocks for the flamethrower

Moi3D is the more ergonomic 3D Nurbs Program! A true gem! :)

3DCoat nice too ... here an example again - just for fun speedpainting with 3DObject as Alpha for the Brush #0

interesting, how do you manage to create a 3b object as a brush?
