Re: Zeropainter - GFX

Magnificent, Zero!!!
I love the illumination on the clock face.
And yes! I particularly like this one as I just finished off reading H.G. Wells' story again.

Re: Zeropainter - GFX

Thnx, that you like it - but I need more training in case of composition and poses, poses bit stiff I think. Maybe I will study his book ;)

Chris is a good teacher, I watch these days also his "Law of Colors 2" tutorial
I got his tutorial after seeing these images from Diệp Thanh

Re: Zeropainter - GFX

Oh, Zero, I totally missed giving you a reaction on that last one. Sorry about that!
There's a lot of good stuff going on in it, really. The perspective is nice and clear. The details are well rendered, too. The posing and composition are a bit stiff, that's correct. Since you've placed the two main characters at the same height on the image, you did not take advantage of the power of "diagonals", so to say. Everything then appears to be horizontal and straight. In perspective you have the chance to create some strong diagonals, even if these two characters had the same physical height, their placement in depth could allow you to lift one character on the image just by having him closer than the other, for example. It creates a much more dynamic tension then.
However, I also dig the ocean and sky, statue, forest and sense of lighting. Great job on that for sure. Last, but not least, the characters are very clear and we know instantly what we're looking at. That's not as trivial as one might think at this level of rendered details. So...really great job altogether! :ob

Re: Zeropainter - GFX

I think that the storytelling aspect of your work is where we resonate the most zero. You are working really hard and it shows in your still life. One of the great things about artists is that no two are alike. Each has their own style and approach. Unless you are a forger of course :D And those guys seem more like craftsmen rather than artists lol

Really nice work c:!

Re: Zeropainter - GFX

I like very much the time machine artwork Zero, the light is pretty convincing.
about the ape planet one, I guess the pose look stiff due to the forearm being without any curve, I would suggest reviewing the anatomy,
also the nose looks a bit flat due to it lacks of shadows in its bottom part, including the cast shadow below it. Perhaps using a 3D model with lighting would help.
Yes, Chris Legaspi has good traditional art foundations Zero, did you looked his trad paintings?
Congrats man.
