Ah, thanks guys!!!
I saw this clip on youtube where a guy gives 3 (kind of useless) tips on painting clouds with oils. His tips were completely redundant, as was his entire appearance, because he was just standing in a way of a very beautiful could painting, which inspired me to paint such a cloud, too. Tips were: 1. go to warm bright colors for the lit parts of the cloud. 2. go to cold colors for the shadows. 3. make soft edges or so...I don't remember, but they were all like: DUH?! So, if he was talking to total beginners, who would be the only people to find use in these simple "tips", they could not dream to pull of such a cloud to begin with. If he was talking to someone, who could pull of such a cloud...well... da heck?!?
Anyway, the cloud was gorgeous, though, so... I love clouds!
Ah yes, I was planning on doing a tutorial on clouds, right! Hmmmmm, ok! I'll do that, too!
...but I'm still researching the various styles and approaches based on my own real life observations. That's the best tip I can always give myself: Observe carefully. Think in different ways: Artistic, Scientific and like a child! Combine those and you find some powerful solutions!
