Re: Artwork de K4ICY

A whole year!?!
Sorry for being a stranger but life gets in the way you know, however I still use Verve once or twice a week (or even more) at work. Actually, I try to never paint with Photoshop.

Image

Here's my newest Vervation; It's called "Mirror Neuronics" and is a Christmas gift for my most dearest friend, a math professor and computer science researcher who desires to leave her mark in the AI universe. There are a few hidden personal meanings within this piece and symbolism as well, including a coded message, but the overall scene depicts this gifted woman studying and pondering her futuristic creation while it learns from its creator. c:! :borg:

The image in the screen is not a physical reflection but augmented reality which has been superimposed upon an android/robot who, using both AI and deep learning (as subset of machine learning and a subset of AI) to exactly mimic the viewers movement on the other side of the screen, a perhaps actually learn to become like it's fleshly analog (or has that already happened... :ugeek: ) All a very strange concept to paint but the result of some personal free-thinking. I'm guessing 10-14 hours over the last week were invested. Well worth it to paint my muse.

I used MoI3D to create the basic image of the server racks in the background as well as the position of the screen's frame. The perspective, which comes across as odd, was semi-intentional to give a feeling that (you) are in a submissive vantage point of what you are witnessing. I've tried similar distortions before at an attempt to induce disorientation and vertigo (if that is possible without being obvious) but I'm lousy with perspective by eye unless I use 3D assistance. :ud:

MIKE!!!
SO GOOD to have you back, that's fantastic!
You can't imagine how many times I was wondering where you went and I've missed you all this time! But it's brilliant to have you back and this piece is incredible! It also is incredibly creepy, too, haha, soo...mission accomplished for sure! c:!
Great techniques and your usual attention to detail make this quite a masterpiece in your collection as far as I can tell. Who knows what other gems you might have produced in the meantime, but I won't be greedy. :hihi: :hyper:

Congrats, Merry Christmas to you, and don't be a stranger! I assume you've kept updating Verve, too?!? :ugeek: ...you certainly should!

Re: Artwork de K4ICY

Thank you very much for your kind words Taron, and especially for Verve, and Merry Christmas to you all!

I have been keeping up with the releases, so at some point I noticed that the Verve flow was incredibly sloooow or would not work on my work PC, and when I would bring it home, things would flow like butter. It took me a bit to figure out that I was now allowed to work on 4000 px images, so the video card was the thing. I had to replace a dead vid card in my home PC recently for an EVGA GTX 1050 Ti (16 gb). At work, I'm rockin' a GTX 560 (4 gb) ...yuck! Time to upgrade.
I had a friend at a local all-in-one print shop inkjet this piece on to coated canvas which was wrapped on a wood frame. Quite nice!
The man (owner) had a Cintiq sitting in a filing cabinet! He needs it but has no time. I had him bring up this site and he was intrigued, so maybe him or one of his employees will soon discover the magic of Verve.

Re: Artwork de K4ICY

That's VERY cool! I wished you had a photo of the printed result, that would be awesome to see! Awesome, for sure, that you get to inspire others to have a look at Verve, too. Thanks for that! :ob
But did I understand this correctly: At some point Verve became a lot slower? It was faster before? That would be very interesting to know, actually. I've done some changes, which appeared to make it faster for me, but I could imagine that it might cause trouble for smaller cards.
Did you notice that one of the most outstanding artists here has just bowed to you up there? :o :D ...I'd be over the moon!

Thank you very much Pudjakjuzto!!! :D

It's still in plastic of course, and I'll wrap it up in a bit for my sweetheart. :hyper:

The shop ["DQP" in Tallahassee, Florida] did an excellent job on the print and mounting, and I learned that they could put my art on anything from mugs to adhesive decals and even books. If someone wasn't "in the know" they might actually think I painted on canvas by hand. :hihi: The experience is essentially the same with the stylus as far as I'm concerned - but less messy.

So, I remember trying older versions of Verve, and I believe that the incredible slow-down in some instances are due to the image dimensions being too large for my (now antiquated) video card. ...unless something got zapped, which I wonder about.
Aside from that, I think the newer UI is pleasant and someday I anticipate to see any improved variants on the natural brush [9], as that is my favorite.

Re: Artwork de K4ICY

Hi dear Mike, nice XMAS again too you @everyone - I like this newest Artwork very very much - can you put it maybe for the toprow @Taron. Reminds me a bit to this nice Artwork from Marc Brunet :D
https://www.deviantart.com/marcbrunet/a ... 3-35710689

do you know the book "How to draw" from Scott Robertson? It may help you for making artworks in a perspective with no or only simple 3D Aid.

But my english is bad ... I understand only the half from the book
