Stunning and beautiful, Mike! All the detail... :o ...the theme love is all over and through this one from it's subjects to all the content and the power that made you do it. It's marvelous!
Thank you for sharing and the nice reminder to do a few Holiday themes!

Thank you all!

Early, yes Pilou. This is for the cover to the next radio club newsletter which is due in two weeks, which means I have to get the art out of the way and spend the two remaining weeks editing articles. ;) Plus, the commercial capitalist monster is already on the loose... I mean, Walmart is already stocking their chintzy plastic Christmas paraphernalia.

I've got a hidden Norman Rockwell aspirations as well. c:!

Alas, this painting has a poignant irony for me personally.

Wow. Very detailed as usual in your paintings! I would only make little fix for the daughter's hands and wife's fingers but the rest is perfect!
Great work Mike!

Mike this really does remind me of Rockwell. The spirit of his painting is in this somehow. Dang it now I want turkey! :D

Oooh what a tasty looking turkey! I love all the details you have managed to put in that piece! The colors, the gold materials, the jelly material, and all are very well! Now I'm really hungry and I just ate! :( lol

Thanks DM7!
You would be surprised what rendering enough 3D objects can teach you about shadowing, ambient occlusion and specular lighting. :ugeek: ...and if it's food, well, you know what looks tasty by instinct. 8-)

BTW - used the angle lock to paint out the gold foil detail.

Beautiful artwork. Looking very intense too, I am digging it. The woman and the radio is so illuminated, fantastico.

"Maple Edge"

A quick one this morning... c:! was inspired by a view of a tree-line next to a clearing where these maple trees stood out full of red fall coloring.
