I finally just watched this thread
I really love your landscape with the squirrels, you got a great sort of zigzag composition going on there
also love the landscape with the dog n the lighthouse for your friend
I see you are sort of tech guy, very convincing how you depict those radios, antennas, n the like, and how you arrange them in your compos.
I'd just adjust a bit some the human proportions, n perhaps the lit skin colors.
congrats.

Thanks Eduardobedoya!
Yes, tech and composition is my forte. Faces and figures will always be difficult. My daughter has the opposite ability in her art.

Yes, Tartan, I have another somewhat connected piece in mind. ;) Thanks to my muse.

Thanks Ovn1!

Here's my newest piece purely inspired by the interests of my muse, and a crazy dream one night: c:! :borg:

Image

"Warrior Katie" depicts her love for fighting games, 3D and all that... Also, this piece pays homage to her fearless determination, intelligence and fighting spirit in real life. 8-)

And the description:
Warrior Katie, the fearless and intrepid fighter/scholar, in a fight for life and death with Doc DeBauchulo, the dreaded mad medical scientist who requires the healthiest of stock for his many horrific mutagenic experiments. She's skilled, strategic and crafty with her "Power-Saber." Ironically, her gigantic real-life counterpart can only but contemplate the thrill of playing her Xbox fighting game in the glory of 3D, never truly knowing the little warrior's endlessly cyclical and truly perilous plight.

The imagery involved stems from one of my many vivid sleep dreams, which is always a great place to look for inspiration.
And yes... a pic within a pic!

This one took two weeks, stealing little moments from here and there to paint. I actually discussed the aspects of the image with her before I started, so there was a lot to live up to and I'm glad it looks close to my original vision. There was obvious help from MoI3D with the base forms of the lab. The figures were the first objects which were formed in Verve exclusively. This had to be one of my most technically challenging Vervations, but so worth it.

Verve has been such a blessing to me and I love to see how happy my renderings can make dear friends and family feel!

My video card at work (evga geforce gtx 560) was insufficient, and even impossible to use at my desired resolution, but the home PC (evga geforce gtx 1050 ti) performed well with smooth brush strokes at a resolution of 4673 x 3107! However, at this scale, I could only save two layer-files before the dreaded "Exception Violation" would occur. Scary.

BTW, I used version .05 as .08 was noticeably more sluggish, but this was on the slower vid card at work. No problem at home.

:o Thats a very cool image dear friend, I like it very much.

It will come to my fave-list in deviant. But I asked some months ago Greg Rutkowski* - about the original resolution of his artwork - for the game "Anno 1800" too - he answered me, that it was 4000x2248px!!!

your artwork has: 14.519.011px
his artwork has: 8.992.000px

So you see, your resolution is good, but I understand if you wish more, I wish it also - it is better to paint fine deatails with high resolution. btw. mostly I start small or even a thumbnail, than I scale it later in photoshop :)

*I will take a look about his tutorials for 'oilpaintings look in photoshop' - let me see, how I can use it for Verve too

Thanks friend! :D
I love the prospect of incorporating high amounts of tiny detail if possible.

My workflow usually starts with a very rough pencil sketch on a post-it note and then I may flesh out the composition in Verve or Made With Mischief. MoI gets used for the 3D elements, mostly for the "bones" of any solid object and sometimes they are rendered in Thea or filled in with PS. Then to Verve with the fun and most if not all the work, and PS at the end is great for adding text detail and color adjustment.
