Re: With verve into the light

Definitely keep those coming! That makes such a fine collection! :ob
You should combine those sketches with perspective, see if you can develop strength of understanding for the volume of those subjects! That can be tricky, too. :ugeek:

And watch out with making posts in the morning... ...or strongly consider to continue eventually in the mature threads! :D 8-)

Re: With verve into the light

Today, I stepped back from heavy detail back to and learned the loomis way on constructing a head. Very good but a lot of exercise needed until I really got it.
But makes constructing a head really easier, even in extreme poses.
This is the second sheet. #5 is done from a picture. #6 went into the paper bin :D

Re: With verve into the light

ack! You were right Knacki. I missed a few pages. You are really in a productive phase lol. I thought the experiment was cool and hypnotic :D Eye Paint was colorful and exciting from the standpoint I am seeing the use of much bolder color from several people. Brain on fire is a nice color combo and abstractish and alien landscape for me :) I also like the color dancer and variations. It reminds me of the 1920's for some reason. :D Funeral is a nice caricature also :) Your studies are really coming together.

I wish I had more time for Verve but I am consumed in a writing phase :) It's just fun for me seeing the great stuff the rest of you are doing :D

Oh, Knacki, your really good results make me think I should do more practising and sketches too!

I like all, but the eye and lips are really great! c:!

Re: With verve into the light

Hahaha tartan, you are very nice. Thanks for all your nice comments. I thought that one or two of those pics are interesting for you.
Like in the 20's? That's a cool idea!
@taron - you are always there, thank you!
@Pilou - Thank you! The dynamic guy! "Drawing dynamic hands" This one book I often looked when I was working in a studio. This guy does a very cool job, but I absolutely don't like his style.
It's not easy to learn from someone you don't like. Anyway he made some really good books.
@Lemi - Hey it's really fun, so far. I didn't start with hands and feet ;)

Today looked a bit more for volume, but still small pics that I don't loose myself in detail.
Some stupid guy from the net.

With him, I started a template for portrait where I simultaneously can see the mirrored pic if I want.
Kind of waste of resources but comes in very handy :D

I really have to watch more careful before starting the shading process. Nose is much longer than original.

Overall, I is getting a bit easier and first little pay offs for all the (fun) work.
