Re: Music inspirations

Attention electronic musicians,
A new interesting piano at Native Instruments :
http://www.native-instruments.com/en/pr ... una-corda/
=> They have sampled a Klavins Una Corda Piano, a special upright piano built with one string per note (instead of 2 strings for mid and 3 strings for treble in a usual "full power" piano). And no cabinet, no ribs on the soundboard.

Very soft and delicate sounds c:!

Re: Music inspirations

Wahahaha, nice, but it sounds quite...uhm...broken and dull, actually. They always make this spectacle around "NEW THINGS", it's almost funny. Anyway, I think, it's rather underwhelming. BUT THANKS FOR SHARING! I'm usually a real sucker for exactly such things. In this case, though, I would prefer an autoharp or the likes, you know. They sound natural, native and complete. This "piano" sounds simply incomplete and noisy.

Re: Music inspirations

For sure I would not propose for all trade use, but for filmatic atmospheres for instance, you know.
It reminded me (a little bit) the old and worn upright Pleyel piano i had when i was a child, when played with the soft pedal.

I like autoharp too BTW !

Re: Music inspirations

Yeah, I learned (and fell in love with) piano on our ancient upright as well. The frame was so weak that it could never get tuned to the right height, but it had a very clear and open sound to it that I just never heard from any other upright. The complexity of the sound, though, that was the charm, which somehow is just gone on this thing, you know. I understand your point a little bit, but it's so arbitrary that I'd somehow try to find another solution for such a sound, you know. UH, I gotta finish up my first VST. It's already so fascinating... I might make a little forum for it here, too. I just have to get back to it. It's only missing midi controller setup! :)

Re: Music inspirations

Thanks Lemi.

Richard Spaven, an english drummer who has a very nice (soft) sound and an amazing machine-inspired style :

My favorite one so far :

Haunting bass line c:!

EDIT : here he plays with a slighty broken groove (especially on the bass drum), this is strange but why not :

Apart from that, all the breaks and the Coda are ridiculous, i can't help laughing, pure genius !

That is flipping amazing!
Thanks, Zero!
Crazy what kind of sound they're getting, really. Makes one ponder again about what it takes to make crazy cool music. :bounce:
