Re: With verve into the light

Awww, Knacki, I mean...it's cool, the worm update, but to be totally honest, I really like the original more, because of its subtleties, you know. It looked more like distant atmosphere, it felt bigger, because the bottom fade felt more like atmospheric perspective. If you still have the earlier version, would you post it again, and would you post it a little larger? I'd LOVE IT!
The blue one is beautiful, too!

Re: With verve into the light

Hell, Knacki, I just could not enter verve's forum for a while, and you blowed it again.
I like very much the expression n look of your chalk girl, despite I would just adjust a bit the limit between the forehead and the hair at the top of the head. For me it really is the best of your portraits, it looks fresh though deep, great combo indeed, congrats.

your afro girl portrait is charming too, I would say that our line drawing gets a feedback from our knowledge in sculpture n in painting, imho good sculptors are the best line drawers, n good sculptors n painters are the best line n shade drawers, having the ability to really notice the skin color shifting (n how color in general works in nature) is the mark of a true shade drawer.

needless to say, love your abstracts, got to do one myself someday. great verving experience.

Re: With verve into the light

Thank you very much, Eduardo, for your detailed feedback.I really appreciate this.
Yeah, sometimes things are just happening better than those carefully planned.
You never get easily this "freshness" if your mind is wanting to do things perfect so badly.
Thanks for pointing me on that again.

taron!
You don't have a clue what a fantastic piece of software you've made! :D

Those "Fluid flowers are single strokes in unbelievable quality.
I wouldn't know any gradient software producing this high quality.
Do you remember for the sculptris abstract challenge you chose a gradient for background?

You said it was rendered, as you never get the result you wanted from PS etc....well I think so. It's ages ago.

And now verve:
Take this tasty golden honey stroke:

and this is a 100% crop

Flawless!

They are so a elegant and sophisticated.
Mud, smudge, oilpaint, watercolor, traditional techniques, fluids, these are the association to verve like the head you have here or the verve painter development forum, or an older one on your youtube channel.
That's the look one is used to. 3d, sometimes a bit of plastic look.
But this is a complete different level.
Can't wait to make big scale prints out of them.

They gonna look simply fantastic! 8-)
What I mean.
Verve can be even more than a fantastic painting app.
The right toolset and it will blow away existing design apps ;)

Re: With verve into the light

First of all... :bounce: 8-)
...and second of all, I completely forgot about our Sculptris threads, especially the abstract one. Man that was fun! So fun! :D
But, yeah, those are indeed beautifully soft and crisp gradients. I had no intention to settle for less! :ugeek:

Thanks, Knacki, you may be able to imagine how happy you're making me with all this, but then just take that times 2 or so!
