Re: Inspirations

Ah, that's cute stuff! I've had to figure out how to change java security to run this stuff, pfff... and somehow the particle sandbox still won't go through. But the magical stuff is fun!
Flamepainter is actually a side effect we'll also have, once I'm done with my particle bristle stuff. In many ways even the current oscillation illustrates that kind of potential behavior, but that'll be just fun stuff later on. I like it, though. He's got a nice presentation, too.
I had heard of flame painter, but never knew he tried a fluid painter, too. :| ...but that's really just the very basics of stable fluids. Kind of like the first test one would do.

But, again, I totally dig the magic effect, hehehe, very nifty! :ob

Thanks for sharing, Zero!

Re: Inspirations

Friends!
Thanks for all these nice links. That's a bunch to work through.
Via polycount I found this interesting page:

http://www.quickposes.com/pages/challenges

Quickposes is a very nice place for human poses references - and to trainee sketching those.
You can choose between some genre and gender.
And you can select the time you would like to see each "quickpose.

Cool idea! Have fun!! ;)

Re: Inspirations

Is it possible to pain something like this in Verve?
And if so, what settings would be appropriate?
(I tried my best replicating it but only came to the conclusion that brush 7 worked somewhat OK :p).

Painting by Leonid Afremov.

He doesn't really paint with a brush but rather one of those metal sharp thingies.
I like the vibrant colors and the sharpness but still a lack of details.

Re: Inspirations

Hey Sublett, well, this would require a little more from the brush logic, picking up paint on individual bristles, but it also needs the brush shape to be different... B U T because this looks exciting, I've made a quick change to brush #9, making use of the "BIAS" parameter. The preview is wrong, but the brush will now flatten horizontally at a positive bias and vertically at a negative bias. This may lead to some similar effects?! ...but it's definitely cool! :bounce:
Thanks for running this by me at a totally perfect moment! :ob
