Perspective or not?
I was researching about Turner's perspective and found that he was even professor of linear perspective!
So he learned and taught the rules, and then broke them!
. I remember staring at his reproduction of "Ulysses Deriding Polyphemus" as a kid which I recalled from memory and found few years ago that it was Turner's painting! We had that painting hanged in living room. I remember just staring at that painting with some dark and shady-mixed feelings. Then, I found this article which shattered my knowledge of perspectives in pieces, even it didn't felt strange! I kinda liked it!
What do you think about it? Do you prefer abstracts (no finite perspective rules) over (linear) perspective?
Article by Hito Steyerl (kinda mood-shifting read, so my apologies for that).
