Re: Vervette Fluid Sandbox...

OOOoohhhh, you mean, can you turn off the light, haha. Thanks, TJ, I saw your question in my gmail. Sorry I missed it here, and weird. :?
First of all: Welcome to the forum!

And now, both Verve and Vervette use lighting to show the canvas and that's why white looks like it wasn't full white (255,255,255 or 1.0,1.0,1.0). Instead it is multiplied by the light, it's angle and distance to the canvas and, of course, it's color and intensity.
In Vervette you can just turn off the light. In Verve you can achieve the same by setting the ambient color to white and the light color to black, but then you will not have lighting and won't see any bumps in the paint, of course. If you went really wild, you could try and adjust both ambient and light to result in a white canvas, while the paint still shows lighting.

Anyway, what are you trying to do, why do you need this? Because maybe I can help more concretely, if I know what you are after, you know.

Having some fun with Vervette again. Inspired by Dines I've played with desert type landscapes a little...

For this one I did look at some reference to examine contrasts. It's pretty interesting how different things become quickly, looking at actual photos, even if used ever so loosely...

Re: Vervette Fluid Sandbox...

Latest Chromium updates destroy website performance IF you have --disable-frame-rate-limit set in your shortcut options. Used to be no problem, but this one's a killer right now. Hopefully they'll fix it swiftly.
--disable-gpu-vsync still works just fine and is perfect for Vervette! Especially my dev version, which I hopefully get to release sometime soon.
I've just added accumulative color picking, which is pure magic. I wrote it last year already, but not for this dev version. Anyway, it's pure magic. Pick and drag over any colors and it will move the color towards an average. Flipping amazing to work with. But I shouldn't tease you... I know... :hihi:

Re: Vervette Fluid Sandbox...

Well, however it happened, I ended up resuming Verve Development and just finished up and released the "last" free version for it: V0.99z
Following this I am working hard on wrapping up the first proper Verve v1.0, but there is still plenty of work to be done and I know just what to do! :hyper: ...it'll be good! 8-)

Re: Vervette Fluid Sandbox...

The first big task is to get everything cleaned up:
• openGL organization
• GUI concept and components
• all classes (Types)
• fully implement polymorphism
• file I/O (to allow loading larger image formats again (cough, cough))

It's a lot of maintenance work first, even while I have already started adding new features. But one must have some fun, too, right!? :hyper:
THANK YOU, Dines!

Re: Vervette Fluid Sandbox...

Definitely the wrong thread, but, yeah, the last posts were about Verve.
