Cool Idea - Fluid-Direction / Fluid Behaviour Map

hello dear Taron, what about my Idea?
can you chek my idea? Idea about a fluid map? Maximum white or no Fluid-Layer Map, that means, fluids are running normal, like in the current Verve Versions, but colors and dark areas are changing the fluid direction and speed, balck did freeze fluid :ob

OH, hahahahah...sorry, Zero, but that is how it works! :lol:
I could provide more "expert" access to let you enter your image into the fluid processing, but it wouldn't make you as happy as you might think right now. The results, though, can look very eery and even cool, but it's more or less totally experimental, nothing you can control as well as you might want to. I've done it already, of course, hehe. I've had stuff in the VERY beginning that had some more cool things happening, which are also experimental, but a little more promising. You could set the fluidity per color component; like blue slower, green normal, red faster. It results in some exciting stuff.
The brightness, by the way, is the material amount, which is nothing but a 32 bit grayscale layer. Trouble there is, that I normally have your colors in 16bit and only material at 32. I was thinking about changing it to give you 32bit on everything, which I might still make an option.

I would completely dig what you are describing for an expert mode. It gets a bit more into image processing than painting but I would love to be able ot apply both automatic distortion based on either predetermined color/luma values or a secondary channel map. Please let me know if you may seriously consider an addition like this. I've been hunting some time for a system to apply this type of fluid distortion. Ideally id love to treat a series of still to then create an animated work.

yes sure, why not! :)
I'm having a bunch of ideas in regards to interface design customization and deep expert features, which you could then also hook up to almost create your own tool. Technologically speaking, all kinds of distortions based on image content are easy to hook up, but could also easily drown the interface, if I didn't find a way to organize them pleasantly.
Originally I wanted to have a single solid GUI, but with all the new features I have going already, it became pretty clear that I need to go at it differently. I'm pretty sure I will have multiple GUI modes or maps for that matter. Pffff, this is going to be pretty deep... :| ...but hopefully as exciting as I can imagine it to be! 8-)
