Verve works on mac via Wine

Very cool software. I'm looking forward to using it. I just wanted to report that I was able to make Verve work (so far) on Mac OS X by wrapping it with WineBottler. I successfully launched Verve as if were a native Mac app. So, for mac users, it should work. :)

Note: Only problem I saw so far was the color picker is messed up.

Hey, LuTastic! That's awesome, THANKS for reporting it! :ob
Feel free to post a screenshot so I can see. That sounds like a GL issue then. :geek:

I'm still planning on going for a native mac version as soon as I can organize some form of crowd funding to get proper gear.

Don't forget that the graphics card still has to support it, Stavros! Which card do you have in your machine?

User Control Panel -> Profile -> Edit Signature ...
It's another sub menu entry, don't search for it on screen center!

To get it to work, I used the winetrick that set windows version at 7, and allowed wine to update itself the first time I launched the app (make sure you update wine to the latest version as well, since they're always improving it). I also had to install the latest version of Quartz/x11. Additionally, I set the option to bundle the wine binaries inside the APP. Other than that, nothing. Only issue I have so far is that the color picker is one solid box and it covers up some of the dials. Performance seems to be fine so far too. I'm not on El Capitan, so I can't attest if it works on that.

That would be fantastic. You mentioned it could be a GL problem? I'll take a look if there's a GL related winetrick and try to re-wrap it and see if that works.

Yes, a bunch of those shaders don't seem to work, but it's really hard to tell. The knobs should be transparent with a bump on them, but they just look black, for example. I'm almost surprised that the paint looks kind of fine.
Thanks for looking into all that, Lu, that's great! :ob
