Some things just can't be explained, or even shown with a result. This is one of those things. I'm literally a bit speechless, trying to find words to describe what this feels like.
I've added a routine that would pick up the color from the canvas into the brush, while you can control the drain from your chosen color, like how much was loaded on the brush. Sounds all pretty normal thus far, doesn't it? Well, when you turn the load to 0, it will only paint with the color it is picking up from the canvas, slowly mixing itself on the brush. Yes, yes, still sounds normal, sort of, doesn't it?
(taking a deep breath now)
But I had added the different transfer modes to the brush: Screen, Multiply, Overlay.
So now... you can pick up the color from the canvas and paint on it with those modes. I imagine some of you still may think this sounds pretty normal, right? Oh, no, no, this is not right. I've never seen anything like it, worked with anything like it or expect anyone having ever done this to my knowledge. If so- mea culpa- I had no clue, but this is incredible. You can literally brighten or darken the paint with itself freely or intensify its color, all on the fly. The result is the most unreal painting feeling with tremendous amount of control on the fly. I'm still so massively thrilled about it, I can hardly contain myself.
I'm posting a ridiculous example, because I'm so nervous, I couldn't even think of anything to paint, it's so incredibly cool. Probably one of the most insane things about it is the speed. It just doesn't care. It's as fast as...well... there is no noteworthy hesitation, regardless the brush size as far as I can tell. I don't even know, if it did matter, were this slow in any way, because it does something so uniquely powerful. Just the sort of careless, no worries type of shading with oils... ok, ok, plenty of words for saying "speechless", but really I am.
And everything else still works just fine, like it's no big deal. So you can make a huge fractal noise that picks up the color and blends it back in only by some faint amount ("a hair and some air", Bob Ross) and you can liberally smear the most amazing clouds of dust or steam or light...it's really too much, I'm blowing a fuse.
