Issues w/ Deleting a Layer

According to the instructions, dragging a layer to the right should delete a layer, but it doesn't seem to work properly for me.

I have to drag the layer to the right about 10 to 20 times before I get the dialog.

Is there some trick to this?

[Shift]+[Delete]
But I most often just grab it at its nose and drag it to the border. That's pretty instant. It's based on distance of motion, not on whether or not it's outside the window.

I now use Shift Delete every time I want to delete a layer…….
but I have to admit the drag to delete thing was driving me nuts tooooo!
Got it to work maybe once out of 5 tries.
lol

Thanks, that works great. Dragging didn't work very well on my system for some reason. Yesterday I tried to delete a layer (that I accidentally added) and it took about 30 tries.

I would suggest modifying the manual a little.

Near the top of the manual, it states:

"Layers have only one less obvious feature and that is Delete. Select the layer you want to hide or show, hold and drag right to bring up the Delete Layer requester."

It doesn't mention the keyboard shortcut (so I didn't know about it). I also didn't know that there was another section that discussed layers.

I would suggest either combining the two sections, or adding all of the info to both sections.

I figured it's a HOTKEY matter, which is why I put it only into the Hotkey section of the info manual! :geek:

But, yeah...things will have to change a bit...
