Re: Stavros Gallery

HA! I've done series of these already, too, of course, and it's totally fascinating, isn't it!
The more specific it gets, like the more you try to make distinct elements, the more amazing the variations get, because those elements remain, but their composition varies. Loads of fun! c:!
Of course, one might argue that it's rather upsetting, if the idea was to faithfully reproduce the same results... ...but somehow I'm almost more excited about how it turned out now. Maybe I will try to figure out some sort of reliable seeding procedure...hmmm.
Anyway, COOL SERIES! Wonder, if Borhani will wake up again? This should be the scariest update of all times for his gallery thread! :D
Here to help! :D

Re: Stavros Gallery

I saw a post by knack about the image brush and realized I haven't really explored that much so I made some squares and scribbles and realized that Verve is an abstract painters wet dream! VERVE IS AN ABSTRACT MONSTER!@#$%^&*
heres some play with a square and a few rectangles.
The fluids can make the simplest thing beautiful

Re: Stavros Gallery

and a textured rectangle
whats unusual about these is that the rectangles seem to retain their form while the texture inside them seems to flow with the fluids.

Re: Monster

VERVE IS A MONSTER TARON!@#$%^&*
The ease with which it can move from a traditional looking brushstroke to mind-blowing psychedelia is....well...MINDBLOWING!
The magic is that fluids have this uncanny ability to tie things together...almost like mastering a recording....it just gels.
There is sooooooo much potential to move beyond the traditional here that its dizzying.
Above all is that fact that its so easy to explore.....grabbing brush shapes off the canvas is so ridiculously sensible and obvious that it makes you wonder why no one else thought to do it that way? ( that I am aware of)
Anyway...Verve is so far beyond beta that it pains me to even think about it.
If you love something......set it free!
SET IT FREE TARON!!!
lol
hugs brother
:)

ps - I just realized its friday 13th!...haha..how appropriate to call verve a monster :)

Re: Stavros Gallery

Towards minimalism....colour and abstraction
Im finding that for me.... the more ambiguous things are..the more satisfying....

my favourite here is the simplest...with yellow ochre block..and the green and purple. This on a large canvas would be gorgeous.
I use colour sets a lot but often I just use random colours and every now and then something magical happens.

I love pure abstraction.......but I love it even more when it alludes to something familiar :)
A landscape...a figure...a vase of flowers..
oh so yummy!

Re: Stavros Gallery

Yeah, the Abstract5 with the ochre block looks like a toxic seascape! ...yet, beautiful! c:!
Well, thank you very, very much, Stavros! That's the curious thing about Verve and about so much more. People can't help but judge against their expectations. When there's a digital paint app, they will look for familiarity sooner than later, no matter how different it comes along. They should look at what they get as what it is and allow themselves to discover new possibilities, but first they always need orientation. Verve is a little ignorant about that as it is, so I need to take it to a point where it satisfies fundamental expectations first or somehow turn it into something so unconventional, that people wouldn't begin to compare. But I prefer to provide orientation, because I want it to be what digital painting should be, you know.
Loads and loads of work ahead.
Your kind of encouragement is a REAL BIG help and gives that all important joy that makes all of this possible and that which is to come!

Small explanation on the squares that have their textures move while outlines seem to stay: The fluids are somewhat natural that way, as is the canvas. You need a certain amount of material before the fluids get to move it around. If you were to fill the canvas, you'd see the outlines of the squares melt, too, but if you went onto an empty canvas, outlines will stay firm as long as they are on a dry canvas. :geek:

Re: Stavros Gallery

Half abstract is better than totally pure abstract because we are half human!

Of course use of Brush "image" (abstract or not) is endless! c:!
(just find time to use it!

Else above is c:!
