Re: Marcat

Wow the warp tool is really fun! I was just playing around on a disc of noise and it turned out to be a nice technique to create the base of a solar flare

Re: Marcat

Hehe, absolutely! Funny that you bring up the sun... but that's just a neat joke to me right now. Last night- before I went to bed- I added a glow to Verve just for fun, making everything glow that's above 100% color brightness. It's pretty amazing to watch, especially when specular highlights get hot enough to glow and glitter, but- man- ....Verve with a thousand suns! 8-)

Anyway, very cool and very scientific, Marcat! :geek:

Re: Marcat

I sense a deep and scientific mind from you Marcat. I have to think you spend a lot of time at the telescope at night  very cool

Re: Marcat

beautiful western (or Saharan) dusk setting... great coloration.
Evokes an image of the Tatooine droid scene from Star Wars IV (minus one sun) just as the Jawa captured them. :ugeek:

Re: Marcat

I'm not sure what you mean by go to earth but I can do a painting set here. I love painting extraterrestrial stuff because for me it helps frame the things I see every day. The earth is the most beautiful place in the universe to us. It is so pretty from above and from the surface. There's nothing more heart warming than children playing or baby animals taking their first steps. Flowers.. I love flowers SO much. The stark beauty of the universe around us helps put what I see every day into perspective. It frames it as something that truly is so special. It also helps me to feel the connection. The earth is a part of the cosmos. It was literally born of our sun, and the sun was born of the galaxy. Every scene I've painted so far I've tried to put some of the clockwork of the universe in. A planet crossing the suns disc, the gas cloud swirling away in the void, flares erupting from the surface of a star, the sun setting on a dusty planet. It's meant to connect it all together, and us to them. I'm not the greatest painter by far but it's really fun to try and express these things. I would normally be shy to share the things I create but everyone is so nice here. I love all the encouraging comments. This is the best art community I've ever seen. Thanks for having me!

xx
