completely agree about that special quality of verve: to catch even tiny nuances of expressions that comes from movement, pressure/release and interaction with something that feels like it has substantial qualities.
like that, you can't »lie« with your images or at least it shows if you try to.

that's why i' am always coming back to it

amazed by verve - still - and maybe more than ever

Hey Wolf, since 2015 is way too long. You are worse than me lol. Beautiful sets all the way through. I really am a big fan of black and white and I have been seeing some outstanding work from Pud and Clay among others. Each one of these has their own qualities from the technical to the abstract. My favorite is the cat who is wondering why the human is up a tree :hihi: c:! :D

hey Tartan,

thank you for your friendly feedback (and the reds of fire beast)! And you're right - i am much much worse than you.
The cat image is one of my favourites, too. Its rather simple technique just adds to it (imho). The whole idea just appeared from nowhere after having some first strokes on the canvas. It was pure luck. Usually i dont come up with good ideas for the story in an image. But maybe with more practice ...

all the best

w.

Hello my dearest Vervians and Ververians,

long time no post ... :D

so ... here are my latest trials – still with lots of errors :hihi:

They are from a free project (the yearly calendar gift for family, friends and customers) where I try to focus on my painting abilities (still way to go). Some were left in an early stage and could use more finish – or not :? . I challenged myself to do something that I am not particular good at: Landscape/Environments. In the later ones, I »escaped ahead« into more graphical solutions to be able to finish within the self-set deadline. The calendar title is »w|orte« a wordplay on words and places. In the final calendar-pages, the images are combined with sentence-fragments, that (hopefully) implies a story in the mind of the beholder.

Hope you enjoy and do not mind the rather big image-pile ... If you prefer more posts with less images, please let me know.

Thank you for your time and best wishes!

wolfgang
