Re: EB Verve Painter

That is superstrong, I like it very much, Eduardo.

I am using verve too less last months to confirm or unconfirm your issues from my personal point of view.
Any progress means always a lost for some persons. Hope it will turn into a win for you finally.

Re: EB Verve Painter

That's massive! Great one, Ed!
The drying speed is different now, behaving more logical, but you have to turn it way down, if you want more of the old feel!
The smudging with opacity on pen pressure allows for more natural smudging. If you softly smudge then, it blends more naturally, while if you push hard, you push paint around like before. Try to get a feel for it, because it is awesome, you'll see! Later on I will add that you can adjust min/max of the smudge on pen pressure. Right now it only uses the fluid smudge parameter for the maximum hardest push and softness goes to make, if you only lightly touch it. AGAIN, all this only is active, when you have opacity on pen pressure ON. If you have it off, it acts like before.
Expect a few changes until I'm through with it all, but the latest really is a massive step upward, except that you may have to re-learn a few things. I've also changed bump mapping a little for more range as well as the build-up parameter, which is now more linear in a way.
Here to help! :D

Re: EB Verve Painter

I'll give it a second try with your tips
please Taron, if you could add a Brightness Knob just above the currently available Saturation Knob, it would be great.
But even greater would be if you could add a presets GUI, do you think the program could handle switching the knobs too often?
thanks again man for the amazing program.

Re: EB Verve Painter

You're welcome, Ed! All the preset stuff is going to come, though, I may pack this into a commercial version. This will include customized controls, too, including a variety of color GUI options!

Re: EB Verve Painter

It's been a long time,
I moved to the north region of Lima about 5 months ago due to a new job location,
I think that was the last of the changes that happened throughout these two years, everything has been calming down very recently
on the other hand, there are the things that are happening in my region, all the Venezuelan people that has left their country, and all the global geopolitics involved in that matter. I cannot help saying that we deserve much better.

I wanted to start posting again here long time ago, and though now days it seems kinda abstract, I thought about doing some sketches of seated people due to that pose uses almost a square canvas allowing a bit more details in lower dimensions.
Then today I saw a video about a Venezuelan family trip from "San Francisco de Yare" to "Lima", it gave me an idea about a Venezuelan girl waiting in a long queue on the trip to new home.

please any advice or correction is very very welcome as always,
no exact reference used, just some stock photos of people's profile,
all drawing done in Verve_painter v0.99v.18a with brush 9, though I used PS just at the end to scale up the head and the arms, cuz I did the body and legs too large,
I tried to use Verve's warp, and though it actually warped her head, it kinda distorted it too, and when trying to scale the legs down instead, it started to show huge wavy curls in the legs' lines (using the same config that warped the head properly) I really missed the PS cmds to select and scale, so I just did that part in PS. Though now I'm wondering the easiest way to return it to Verve in order to apply a little bit of watery color to it.

Re: EB Verve Painter

Hey Ed. Looks to me like it's coming along nicely. A watercolor would look great with her. On the warp and with the updated Verve or Any Verve version. It's capable of some very nice fine adjustments in addition to moving it more vigorously. Using it with line work can be tricky. My suggestion would be to start testing on line work, scans also to morph existing features at different levels of both dryness and liquid in warp mode until you find the answer. It is Much better than photoshop warp mode at least compared to CS6.

I like the story you have behind her and the thought you have put into it. I don't expect you to do this but it might be fun for you to write a short story about her and then storyboard it. You could Meld it with both Venezuelan and Peruvian folklore or keep it realistic. There is a powerful story lurking here. I will edit it for you :) That would be fun to see. I have a friend from the Zbrush forums. His avatar name is Andresloy and he lives in the mountains of Venezuela. He has a large family and is in his 70s. He should be well known to both Pilou and Knacki. I haven't heard from him in a long time but am trusting that he is ok. Refugees have it hard.

Anyway I like what I see here
Motherboard -Asus Rampage IV Extreme
CPU - i7-3930k @ 3.2 GHZ (overclocked - 4.5)
Ram - 64 gigs Kingston Hyper Beast
GPU - 2 Nvidia 1080 GTX running in SLI

Re: EB Verve Painter

Hi Thomas,
the story of an exodo, I wonder how much one could synthesize that story so it can be properly told in few images, though it would definitely need a couple of landscapes, I´d have to come up with a workflow between PS or AR and Verve. I´ll give it a try.
