Re: Taron's little gallery

Wow! Taron how are you not a famous artist. You have some amazing skills!! I would pay good money for a nice framed 3' poster of ole Spock there haha! Really great! I hope you get some more free time soon, it'd be awesome to see a more in depth look at your painting process for pieces like this.

Re: Taron's little gallery

Wehelll... for my painting I'm certainly not a famous artist, haha, thank you very much, though! :D
3d...hmmm...kinda different, but I've been quiet for so long, I wonder how many people remember my heydays!
Thankfully that's the kind of icing I don't depend on, but tasty to hear for sure! ;) THANKS! :D

Ah cool, I'll check'em out. TIme for a new topic for sure!
Well, fan is saying a little too much, but I have always loved the show, really. I've been a big fan of Spock, hahaha...and when I thought of a good subject for a portrait, I eventually thought of him again. :)
THANKS, of course! :D

Re: Taron's little gallery

Indeed V1!

Taron, this is absolutely awe inspiring work! :o
I was at my mother's house last night for the '4th' and I was able to run Verve on her PC. My oldest daughter spent most of the time there playing around with Verve.
My mother, though not an artist, but a Phd. in Humanities, took notice and appreciation in Verve and what could be done with it - then I came across your rendition of Spock!
We'll she's a die-hard "Trekie," particularly of the man from Vulcan. (much approval) ;)

I look forward to increasing my skill-level with Verve in my tool kit. :D
Great job Taron!

Re: Taron's little gallery

And there I was, wondering if this one just kinda goes by unnoticed, hahaha...I was kind of surprised how well it turned out, not tooting my own horn, but I've just never tried to really carefully paint a portrait like that and thought it held up kinda nicely. I was also wondering, if someone would think that that would be merely some cheap trickery, which is wasn't...but...I felt confident enough about the result that it became imaginable to me someone could think that.
So...mildly frustrated, but still rather proud, I just kind of moved on, or tried to just move on not thinking about it. I'm not sure, if you are familiar with that sort of sensation, but I would imagine so.
And THERE YOU ARE!!! YAY! I'm really happy you all like it! It's a very, very welcome reassurance!
By the way, I've just hooked up an auto-level feature, but it's still pretty dumb. I'll do a few more things to it and then release a new version! :)

I hope you've had a nice 4th and some decent fireworks over there! :D ...I totally missed it, actually, because I normally bounce around wishing a happy 4th, haha. Well...out of sight, etc...

Anyway, greetings to your whole family, Mike! You are all making me very happy there!

V, I hope you get to overcome the card troubles quickly... I really bitterly hate the idea of not seeing more Verve paintings from you! :(

Re: Taron's little gallery

Hey Taron, I had to jump on the bandwagon after seeing your post at Zbrush Commnity, Thanks Frenchie! It's good seeing familiar faces like Knacki also. Taron, I like your self taught coding but more than that I am admiring your portrait of Spock! I was wondering if you would pursue it and am glad you did. Very Very inspiring. I know you don't inhabit the old Sculptris forum anymore but go check out Maffuss thread there. He did a fun caricature and I can't help but think you were the one that gave him inspiration on his last sculpt there. Yes I could be wrong but as we all know I have been wrong before LOL I am playing with Verve on my new graphics hard drive (I switch hard drives for games etc) I still need to install my old Bamboo but am enjoying it with a mouse! I would love having an android version to play with on my Kindle hdx as I watch tv . Once again well done! I just wish Bas Mazur were still with us because he would have loved this software :D I think his daughter will also and I have determined to send her a link!
