Re: Verving the Pipeline: Multi Program Workflow

Hey Pilou :) That was done in mandlebulb 3d for the background. It seemed to match what I was going for.

These next 2 were done using Verve on the texture with 2 different texture generators, They came out very differently. If you go to the beginning of my thread in artworks you will see my first Verve coloring attemopt. I took that image into both face gen and headshot pro. The first one came out of headshot but the second doesn't reflect the true result because i blurred the texture. I wanted to try it against a Verve painting I had done. Regardless of results I had a good time with it :D

And one more. Usually people don't make covers for a short story and a vignette at that :) Ideally Tales of Bridgeworld should be at the top with the name of the short story below but it's helped spark a writing spree. Three more vignettes will get their own cover also lol. Then it all dovetails......

Very esoteric vibes in that one! :D ...plenty of mythology and symbolism, while I can't quite tell how much of it was intended? But it sure looks elegant. Love the swirls! :)

Re: Verving the Pipeline: Multi Program Workflow

Yes, there is a bit of symbolism going on here but more on the personal level with the patterns in the back. If you do a search for Egyptian motifs you will find similar. What it holds is part of the key to the lady on the right in her human form. She is a combination of three Egyptian snake goddesses Meretsegar, Renenutet and Wadjet. As a deity you could say that Wadjet ate the other two :D But they were simply absorbed in the sands of history. I combined all three but I chose Merertsegar as being dominant probably because "She Who Loves Silence" is such an evocative title. In the set of patterns you will see in the middle a set of pots. Other patterns relate to the harvest etc. That's my interpretation not a scholars. The pots I relate to artisans as Meretsegar was the protector of artisans. Renenutet was a goddess of the harvest. Wadjet was a protector of the land and associated with the Eye of Ra. The tiny snake on the crown is a representation of Wadjet because she was also the protector of Ra. But I chose " Mert". Meretsegar works better for me as a name.

The swirls on the left came from a M3d mutation. This story is set at the center of a multiverse on Bridgeworld. Meretsegar doesn't come from our reality. I didn't want pyramids in the background. I came very close to putting the Eye of Ra there but chose those swirls to represent the Multiverse ;)

The story itself is only a page long. It is a true vignette but I will tie into 3 more and then the characters from those will join together into a true short story. Meretsegar's story has been written as has another characters. Two more to go before the finale. Then I will publish it here.

Re: Verving the Pipeline: Multi Program Workflow

Thanks so much Pilou.  This is the format I am aiming at. Basically traditional writing melded more closely than usual with the art. Kind of like a children's book attempting an educational angle but elevated to an adult level focusing on character and story line. My creative forms of expression have been with me since before kindergarten. I learned how to read at a very early age and was always on the cusp of my creative impulses. Meretsegar is just a very small piece in the overall framework of Bridgeworld and MoreOrLess but there is room for her to grow as a character and her story is unique. Plus the vignettes and graphic work are great exercises for me. They allow me to explore this world and multiverse of mine. It is always a pleasure to "discover".

This is a proposed transition between Meret's vignette and the vignettes of 2 others. The writing is purposefully short. The challenge of a vignette is to complete the story in a page or less. Fun times ;) hmmm CC3, IC7, Photoshop 2020, mandlebulb 3d and a bit of Verve to maintain cohesion. Feel strange working with a pen and tablet again.

Re: Verving the Pipeline: Multi Program Workflow

I really like the pencil like feel/texture of your illustrations there, T! Great stuff!
The story reads easily and feels effectively compressed in a good way. One gets the gist of it immediately without a moment of unease, except possibly by the content itself, haha. :?
Someone, who enjoys fiction, should be able to enjoy this right away and will certianly feel compelled to read on! :ob
