Few things are as beautiful as a summer's thunderstorm and some warm rain. :)

Re: Vervette Fluid Sandbox...

Thanks, Ed! Yeah, lots to explore, no doubt. I'm jumping back and forth between adjusting paint behavior and testing styles. Not to mention other developing needs. I just hooked saving png and jpg back into it. That feels pretty good. Next is my proprietary format (vti), which is a compressed 16 bit image or set of images for saving all layers and project settings. Has to be done at some point and I'm thrilled to have it back, too.
Soooo....can't wait for a romantic break, hehehehe. :hihi: :ob

Re: Vervette Fluid Sandbox...

Cool,
Have you tried the maximum canvas size? which is it? 5000 px width I read somewhere?
What is the second most recommended browser to run it on? cuz my chrome is full with 30 extensions.
thx advanced, congrats.

Re: Vervette Fluid Sandbox...

Good question, Ed. While Firefox 64bit works very well, it has those annoying little info popups of shift or Control or any modifier keys while using the tablet. No idea how to turn that off, yet?!
There are a number of open source browsers and the likes that are working well. Last, but not least, there's Node.js, which has the chromium engine. I may actually prepare a stand-alone release with this.

Maximum size... if I rework undo a bit, I imagine it could go up to 10000, depending on your card. I'm literally only rendering where you're drawing, unless you change lighting or do any compositing, of course. So it's quite fast even into highest resolutions. However, with fluids this may change, but I'm still thinking about ways to make adaptive fluid rendering possible, which would again may allow for great speed at highest resolutions.
On my poor little GTX 970 I currently can still comfortable paint on 4000x5000, while I can hear the fans going. BUT I haven't optimized in a while and got a lot going on. It will be good, though! ;)

Re: Vervette Fluid Sandbox...

little info popups are program profile settings in wacom settings, not in the browser, by default a newly added program has win ikn enabled.
differences between the default profile for all programs and, inter alia, firefox or verv cause this annoying thing.

Re: Vervette Fluid Sandbox...

Thanks, pud! That's the strangest thing, though. Firefox needs Win Ink turned on in order to work properly with the tablet. But so I turned it off, the info popups vanished, but the strokes were messed up. So I turned it back on and the strokes are fine again, but also the info popups are gone! :bounce:
...I'm afraid, if I restart the system, I may have to go through that procedure again, but for now that's awesome! Firefox works very smooth, too! Also it made me find another curious little bug that Chrome did not show. That's fixed now, too! 8-)

THANKS!!!

Uh, but Win Ink has different additional problems. If you do small strokes, it can happen that the brush starts from a previous stroke's start. Chrome never has that. Either Firefox or Win Ink or both have a real bug there in Windows 7! Probably in 10, too?!
So, yeah, I cannot recommend Firefox after all. :uhuhuh:

Re: Vervette Fluid Sandbox...

Uhhh, here's a neat list... Try the Epic Browser! That seems to work beautifully! c:!
Vivaldi seems to work quite well, but I still have to keep exploring.
I thought Epic was great, but then it would reload the page when trying to "save" the image...eh.... that's no good!

Anyway, something to explore:

Feel free to try some and let us know! :ob
