I find this comforting. Problem is, however, not the lack of good new music, but the lack of good mainstream pop. It's wonderful to see that the propaganda machine fails at least there already!
I haven't read the article, yet- not sure, if I will, haha- but my guess would be that virtually all mainstream garbage is produced by some minions and then handed over to manufactured minion celebrities, catering to almost strictly specified audiences. And the innocent public still believes it was about money, which it only ever is for performers and helpers, but not really any producers. It just isn't about that and really hasn't been for many decades. Above all, it's not about ideals of musicians, who share their genuine inspiration, when it comes to all things mainstream.
