Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

Weeee, haha, thank you, eskimonas! :D
Once I find enough time again, I'll see that I resume making videos, too. I really wanted to add some tutorial videos and I have a wacky idea that I hope some people will jump onto!

Verve is still a bit overwhelmed by high resolutions and the fluids may always be, but sooner or later i'll work out ways to deal with those 4k+ situations, too. 8-)
Thanks for the info and the encouragement!!! :D AND WELCOME aboard, of course! You should have a look at the Vervatar Challenge! ;) ...it's a fun way to start using Verve and to introduce yourself to the crowd here, too!
Here to help! :D

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

I will surely do that once I have gotten into Verve a little more, right now I find it quite difficult to remember all the hotkeys... :?
But I'll probably have figured that out in a couple of days.
Don't expect too much from me, though. Unfortunately I am far away from being as talented as you or borhani for example... :D
On that note, I really admire all your guys' work here! So jelly! :D

What graphics card are you using and how well or fast Verve runs for you? :geek:
— Nvidia GeForce GT 120
Desktop or Laptop?
— Desktop (MacPro3,1 2008, running Windows 7)
...and if you wanted to...
Encountered limits in resolution in Verve before it fails (black screen or crash) :o
— not yet! :D

Nvidia launches Maxwell, a next-gen GPU

Thought this might be of interest….super duper hi end
in particular the max output resolution of 5120x3200

http://www.extremetech.com/computing/19 ... dia-fanboy

Support for HDMI 2.0, 5K, 4K @ 60 fps. Yes, the GM204/GTX 980 is the first GPU to support HDMI 2.0, which means it can output 4K @ 60 fps. The GTX 980 reference design, powered by the GM204 chip, is capable of driving up to four 4K MST displays (up from two for Kepler). Maxwell’s maximum output resolution is 5120×3200 (5K), up from Kepler’s 4K.

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

I have ordered this model now:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487075&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&PageSize=10&SelectedRating=-1&VideoOnlyMark=False&IsFeedbackTab=true#scrollFullInfo

Not a gamer card like ASUS STRIX, MSI GAMING .... but I hope fine enough, without overclocking - because I don't play games ... maybe only CIVILZATION on day again :P

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

Holy tolido...that thing has almost 5 times as many cuda cores as mine (quadro 5000) and twice as much memory. Yet, it costs almost just a third of what mine must've been then. Oh, and it uses less power, too, even if only marginally less (152W vs 145W).
Well... I'd very much imagine that Verve will simply fly on your machine! :o ....I'm excited for you!
