Re: Suggestions

Hahaha,
nice idea but typical corel painter solution:
Billions of windows and parameters until you can't see your canvas anymore.

Anyway, I love particles ;)

Re: Suggestions

<really big voice and rather pompously saying> I (as in AY) haven't even started with the Grid yet!
Well, the funky little lens curvature grid I have right now has just been a prototype. I've planned on making grids like layers where you can add as many different grid types as you wish, probably constantly expanding with new types as well, but all the standards I'd like to hook up.
That includes classic point (1,2 and 3) perspectives, plates, spheres, cones and other possible guide systems (lines, curve guides and so on). However, I'd also hook up sync for effects like applying lens distortions to all grids or only selected grids and so on.
That's why the final interface will be very, very different than what we have now, probably a lot larger, too and not so compressed. But I'm also thinking about planning to keep a compact version as an option. We shall see.
Customizable it has to become, too, of course. But step by step...
Here to help! :D

Time Manipulation?

Hi Taron,
I have no idea how feasible this idea is, but have you thought about a sort of time manipulation? For example, after letting the fluids run amuck for a bit, there could be a slider to rewind time to get the exact moment you want. I hope I explained that well, and for all I know, somebody may have already suggested it. Unfortunately, because I have a Mac, I cannot use verve myself, but I've fallen in love with this software through watching your developer's videos. I hope a Mac version is in the works! c:!

Re: Suggestions

Oh, yeah, as soon as I have time and funding, I will go at a mac version, but that will have to wait a moment.
Uh, such a time rewinder would be...eh...rather in the realm of impossibility, really. Even if I could record videos, and I will be able to, to have them at full bit depth at any resolution is currently not imaginable from a hardware point of view. Fluids also directly alter all the content present on a layer with no memory of what it has been. However, I could and will do different things that could have some interesting effects, because it's still a massive playground for experimentation. Once I get there we'll have some good fun.
Nice idea, though. I wished it was possible. Thanks, Shabbob! :)

Re: Suggestions

I believe all we need is one single monster brush interface.
It would be internally modular where input can be selected or combined as well as various generators such as oscillators, random, designed sequence, position based patterns. I might make access to a modular system, too. Those can be hooked to various brush features such as bristles and stroke behavior. Bristles can be made independent from the brush source like their behavior is just triggered by the paint stroke, but could go off and do anything based on generators or it remains influenced by the stroke itself. Bristle shapes by generators and modified by input and so on...
Bristle color modifiers based on solid colors or generator based and influenced by selected color, modified by input and so on...
Paint color modifiers that let you decide how the paint gets transferred from bristles to the canvas or modifies existing paint (brighten, darken, saturate, etc... possibly with generators as well).

Then there's the preset manager where you can make and name your own presets as well as loading sets and so on...

This may get the most universal brush designer ever, hehehe. Instead of bristles you may have solid shapes as well to have pallet knife, carving shapes and so on...

At the end there should be little to nothing left one could wish for. :ugeek:
(Special borhani glitch modes may appear, too)
