Re: Suggestions

Yes it works with new u25, GPU goes down to zero when minimized (checked with OpenHardwareMonitor.exe). And also when another window is above Verve, that's new I think. Thanks :ob

Yep! I forgot to activate that earlier. Nothing like a tiny bit of pressure!
Thanks, G!

Re: Suggestions

You're welcome. And new u25 stays active when IrfanView is in "Always on Top" mode (I use it to pin a photo for reference, partially covering the canvas), which is perfect !

Re: Suggestions

I HAVE AN CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY idea, but I don't know - if you can do that dear dear Taron ....

Thats my suggestion!

What if you had a screen-canvas/sheet that behaves like a space-ball / sphere?! My Imagination the Vervepainter / artist / observer - is like inside in a sphere. The Sphere is the Canvas! But You are in this sphere, you are inside of this sphere  I think this could be very quite useful for easy paintings of 360 ° -180 ° Spheres / panoramas. You should see your as a 180 ° -360 ° seamless panorama, and if you wish, you can change it also by your painting-session into this Panorama.

It would also be the first graphics program in the world, if it could this do?! ;)

Crazy Idea? or sh*t?

it would be the first painting tool in th world - for painting images like that -Image ...
it haves only two drawbacks: you have distortions in this painting-sphere-mode and you can never see the whole image, if you are in this space-sphere you see a circular image, like from a fisheye-lens with black boarders/edges - but you can switch for flat, into a seamless rect angular :P

Re: Suggestions

That's creative idea :ob
Dear Taron, on the liquid side of things, what about adding one day the possibility of colorless fluid, also known as ... water :D ?
We could then dilute colors, we could even paint a shape in transparent water and then add drops of ink like in this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_zbcVs419E

Image

We can (sort of) emulate this today with Q mask (which is easier to use than ever since version u.26 :ob ), and dilution with soft erasing.
But transparent liquid could be cool, what do you think ? Difficult ?

Re: Suggestions

That's a wee bit the holy grail of fluids, because it really requires proper dispersion. We've talked about this some time ago already here... there are some beautiful examples out there on youtube, too.
Anyway, in reality this would really ask for two independent fluids, I believe, but I'm not entirely sure. One of these days I'll give it a go.

Re: Suggestions

Hi Taron
Ive been craving something similar myself…
never mind the water which requires a second fluid…...
Im wondering if you have experimented with just adding some particle force AWAY from the brush point of origin.( a dial)
So you have some outward movement as well as the brush momentum to mimic dispersion ?
Would this not create at least some sense of a dispersion effect even if it is superficial?
Just a thought…love to see something like that.

Re: Suggestions

I tried that in the beginning and the effect was VERY weird, haha...confusing even. It created spirals as you move. Those fluids have a rather complex way of acting. It might've been the stippling behavior of all the earlier brushes. I should try it again for sure! Thanks, Stavros! 8-)
Although I didn't think about dispersion then, but the logic of paint being pushed out as you press into them. I'm still wondering, if I should find a better way to consider the volume?! :|
