Re: Suggestions

Hey Zero,
I think that was a topic at some point and I can imagine this to be fun. Once it is there, though, it has to be very adjustable, because otherwise some people want it faster, some slower, some want it to accelerate and decelerate, some want this and that and I want to provide a solution that could serve everybody then. That means, I will implemented, because I'm curious about it, but not right now. It's very likely that it's useful in unexpected ways, which is what I like a lot! :D

So, yeah, good call! :ob

Re: Suggestions

I'm still trying to understand how you function, Zero, hehe. Maybe this time it will stick when I say: YES, the intuos3 has pen rotation and I've used it in Verve almost from the very beginning!

Technically they call rotation "tilt". You get "tilt x".
Then there's a "tilt y" which is the really what I would call tilt, which is how flat you hold the pen onto the tablet.
Then there is even a "tilt z", which would be the barrel rotation of the pen, but that only works with special pens that I've never had.
(One day, provide proper extra funding, I might actually try to get one of those. Sounds so exciting!)

Re: Suggestions

Taron, is it possible to support tilt off (or freeze tilt at the current position) for the new custom brush?

Could you desribe structure of the custom brush file format? Mainly size, type and starting address of the image format you use (png I suppose?). My goal is to create an utility that can convert Photoshop brushes (abr) to your Verve brush format.. :geek:

Re: Suggestions

Uh, ambitious!
It's not png, but my own compressed raw format, because it contains both color and material build-up, you know. The trick is to match the compression, but it's based on zlib. In BlitzMax it's sometimes hard to dig all the way down because many of the mods have precompiled files.
Worth having a closer look for sure.

Re: Suggestions

Thank you. :)
At the first glance it looks there is a text SEGMENT header that describes size and other brush data. After </SIZE> tag there is a new line. Am I right that after new line starts the zip stream? Do you compress material and colors in one zip stream or separately?
