Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

Yeawhat?!? 500Mb?!? :o
Oh dear...well...hmmm...uhm...we shall see, I guess. I'll see that I figure out some more solutions for massive layer amounts like that, so don't delete your project! I will work it out. :| 8-)
And, yes, the layer merging has to change, but it will then most likely have to change in a very different way altogether, too. I'm having something in mind, but I can't promise that everyone will like it right away. It would make things faster and would reduce memory loads, but it will act in a new manner. You can then decide to pile up paint, which will always show the underlying material build-up, you know, or you do layers like now, where a new layer is really like a new painting with transparent areas, but you couldn't possible merge those without changes. So...we shall see. Maybe even a kind of "fixative" path, that would remove all material and freeze an image with the lighting or so...not sure.

Geforce GTX950M on a laptop, works fine.
The intel graphics card is not fast enough for this program.

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

Hello, I have a question about graphic cards. I have a 580gtx in my machine, mainly used as a cuda processor for blender cycles. I have two monitors connected it and so to get more monitor support I bought a cheap nvidia 610. I also have a wacom cintiq to draw on, however its connected to my 610. My question is does verve use the more powerful GPU in my system (580), or both, or just the video card the program is displayed on (610)? Thanks.

Uh, sheeesh, I assume it would only use the displaying card. I'd be confused, if it would do something else, actually! :?

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

You probably already know this, but Radeon R9 Fury, 4GB ;)

Currently blazingly fast. I usually have 3kx2k canvases and everything is like butter.

I am curious how the memory requirements scale with the canvas size changes though. Is it pretty linear when it comes to adding more pixels? And does adding layers multiply the requirements?

Do you have suggestions for usual GPU memory sizes and relative canvas sizes? That might be a nice feature, a warning that will pop up and say, "This 10k x 10k canvas isn't going to perform well on your 512MB of graphics memory. Try reducing it to [x]".
PC Specs:
Processor: AMD FX 8350
Graphics: AMD Radeon R9 Fury
Motherboard: ASUS Crosshair V Formula Z
RAM: 16GB DDR3
OS: Windows 10

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

Yeah, thought about it already. I'll have to investigate more. I know it would be great!

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

Figured since I was here I'd add in Nvidia Gforce GTX 970 here can go up to 5100~ish x 3000~ish before black screen
Made a brush that was 1,500~ish big and painted the entire canvas with no lag or slow down.

Other system info.
i7-2600k
16GB RAM

update:
Fluid was set to 96 also.
