@Knacki

If that curtain is in Hitchcock's Psycho scene ha? :)

I like how you planned composition and executed all hues at those hills side at right of temple. Is this for some illustration project you work on?
btw. That hue dance remindes me of this nice picture (just zoom in with mouse scroll to 1st bearded guy's right shoulder - next to bride).

Re: With verve into the light

I cannot wait to see the finished thing! I hope you will forgive me, when I carefully tell you how it immediately ignites memory of the Amiga times or even C64 days...no, no, Amiga times. It has the vibe of an early game on it in the painting's current state. :geek: :D ...it really is the unfinished bottom section, of course, but those are precious memories it triggers! :)

When it's done, it will more likely remind one of Miasagi or other gorgeous background paintings. That reminds me to resume pondering over animation, again! 8-)

And: Wow, zen, good catch of a different kind, haha! ...it really does, though! ...yet another shockingly naturally artistic feature! 8-)
Here to help! :D

Re: With verve into the light

Miasagi? Miyazaki I presume, as in http://40.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m9n80 ... 2_1280.jpg ?
Anyway it is funny how it also reminds me Amiga game like Defender of the Crown! :D
How much I loved playing it! :?

Re: With verve into the light

Haha - nice that you guys have fun.
Thanks for all nice comments!
But I have to confess that it is done from reference.
Was planned as speedpainting - still looks like it - but took already 3hrs :(
I am too slow, not good enough and not talented enough.
It's a mess.
But! I learned a lot.
Layer structure for easy work. Think strictly back to front!
Brush #7 is your friend for hills and buildings.
An early WIP:

Next time I'll be a bit faster and be able to do something not so close to reference. (even though I left some freedom not to go too crazy in detail)

Re: With verve into the light

Mahaha, haha...oh man, I can't help myself, but I have to think of the guy, who had this built: "YES! YES! It will be PERFECT! TOTALLY SAFE! I mean, c'mon, worst case we just kill the bridge and then go see those guys swim in armor, muhohahah... NEVER! It has to be done!"
Very cool reference, really! 8-)

Thing is, working from reference can be very hard, especially if you care to get it right. Don't be too humble as you clearly are really talented and your ability to dedicate yourself to a task is nothing but solid testimony to that!
Once you get the reflections into the water, I think this thing will totally rock! :ob
