Neither do I! ...or at least, if you say that I might as well say it, too! ;)
A first doodle worth remembering! :D

Re: Everybody's First Doodle

Created with recent Verve version.

Where two worlds collide behind the curtains...
Franconian creatures hidden at the lodge's dark corner. This is where two worlds collide behind curtains with one world "taking" it's place in the dark corner, not revealing it's Master and greeting with smile on the face.
Semi-fan-art like unpretentious image created with a mixture of some dark fantasies already existing.

(Details and precision suffered due to need to paint with mouse. I don't have tablets. And Verve is such a great tool that not so much of a pain to draw even with mouse.
During that painting I found that layer system has it's little uncomfortable moment - kinda of you can't have that many layers as you wish that easily. You work in those who fits on layer table space. If there would be possibility to scroll through layers and work with let's say even +5 layers more than currently available - that alone would make more space for manouvers  )

Say whatever - even as it stands Taron wrote something amazing. Let's purchase him a house for that!

Re: Everybody's First Doodle

Yes, Let's!
I certainly still need my own home after a lifetime of living in apartments!

Anyway, yeah, the layer interface is still Verve's stepchild, so to say, but you can have as many as your memory holds, even if you can't see them  ...just use the hotkeys to go through them! [f9] through [f12], check docs! ;)
VERY COOL, by the way, what a morbid and complex painting! Just amazing that you could do that with a mouse!? You really deserve a tablet! 8-)

Re: Everybody's First Doodle

Hey, I did not pay attention to this topic ! Great idea. So I found back my very first attempt to see what is Verve about. Never finished it, obviously but doing this convinced me that Verve contains magic.

Re: Everybody's First Doodle

Hi, and I remember you Taron!!! You used to do some speedpainting at cgtalk forum I think. I always loved your style! Anyways, here's my first attempt (after playing around and get familiar with how it works) and I'm in love with your program already! <3

Re: Everybody's First Doodle

I'm still doing them, when I'm in the ride mode/mood. 8-)
VERY COOL! I really dig the atmosphere and the perfectly convincing feel of paint you've achieved! Great painting, Dm7! You should join back in at CGTalk, too! Daily Sketches are still going on. I will pick up the pace again there, too, I'm sure!
WELCOME to the forum, too! :D ...I'm very happy to know you found your way here! :)

Re: Everybody's First Doodle

Thanks Taron! :D Cool that you're still doing speedpaint. I haven't done any speedpaint for a while because my biggest issue is doing that too much and never finish my work :P so I'm focusing on finishing my art up. This one is of course an exception because it's a new software and I wanted to get a feeling of it. ;) I'll give it another try someday.

Re: Everybody's First Doodle

Somewhere in near or some time this year I perhaps will get one tablet. Maybe.
Hhhhmm, so I got it - you can create those many layers. Just that with F9-F10-F11 you can go up and down. I once tried to do experimental layer merging. Results where somewhat interesting by themselves. It's a way to come up with something completely unexpected. And not to say bad.

Good old CGTalk :)

"Never finished it, obviously but doing this convinced me that Verve contains magic."
That's why Taron deserves a house. He created magical tool.

I very slowly started to get it what it actually means to have such fluid dynamics for painting and what power does come here into play with a computer technologies.
Consider layers alone and what they give to whole process workflow-wise!
It is magic of it's own sort to have those technologies and brains like Taron who makes it possible.

Re: Everybody's First Doodle

Finally it works without crashing and finally I have new keyboard, which does not mess everything up. So here my first actual try without having to deal with unnecessary and annoying stuff :)
