Re: With verve into the light

I stand all amazed!
The landscape are vast and seem to pull you in.
I love the cactus and it's lighting.

Re: With verve into the light

Thanks MIke,

Drawing backilit scenes is pure fun with this.
Just duplicate a layer of hairs and play around with layer settings and eraser.

I made a pic for mischief challenge February:
https://www.madewithmischief.com/blog/the-february-mischief-challenge-has-begun
It's about AI and future living together.
I colourized it in verve now.

Re: With verve into the light

Very neat! My next version has much, much cleaner and easier sketching, too, by the way! ;)
GOOD LUCK with the challenge, of course! :ob
Here to help! :D

Re: With verve into the light

Thank you taron.
MIschief has a nice pencil look and a nice ink look, but that's not what I am after.
Photoshop or krita or art rage or wtf else is up there, would do this much better.
I think with a bit patience one could create a nice pencil in verve too. I guess I've already seen some nice versions here.

Download attachment for verve preset. It's a bit smudgy but already nice. More artistic ;)

Mischief is all about the unlimited canvas & (almost) resolution.
Just start somewhere and don't think about borders or resolution.
This is a perfect match for my, sometimes, chaotic starts without knowing what I will end with.
Cut & transform selections in a very basic way is nice to have, but my love warp is missing. Unlimmited undo is top.

Mischief is a brilliant companion for i.e. quickposes. Just draw and scroll and draw and scroll for ages. :ugeek:

EDIT:
The challenge is over. I didn't expect to win with a simple sketch, but it was a nice theme.
"The magic of books" is March theme.
Lovely.

Hey! I thought I recognized a little Mischief in there. ;)

Re: With verve into the light

Haha, yes well I used Mischief quite a lot for quickposes last weeks.
Unbeatable for this quick 60 second sessions, with no break between each picture ;)

Today I explored a bit of verve's limits again.
Stavros had a request in here:
http://www.taron.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=23&p=11168#p11165

Even though my computer is not the youngest anymore, it has some neat components.
Anyway GBoGBo made something, where I always gave up. I think that could lead even slower machines to new dimensions.
If you redefine your resolution and a black canvas is shown, try to fill it with CTRL+SHIFT+F.
If this works, it's a good sign ;)
Check the HQ button on top right corner. If that also works...another good sign.
Now try to save a PNG file BEFORE you start to work, works? Gooood.
Now try to save a vrv project. Works also? Congrats! Now you are ready to start working in highest resolution.

I was able to go up to 4701x3111 in HQ with four layers (maybe there are some more pixel possible :D)
This is the reduced pic:

I cropped this part:

And that is it's original size as a 95% quality JPEG crop from the PNG:

Cooooool :D :D
Photoshop says 165cmx110cm :ob

Be aware!!!!
This is far beyond recommended size. Do it on your own risk.
I couldn't reopen the project. -> Black.
GBoGBo's trick in pressing p after selecting white was not working.
I could reopen the PNG though, but not activate HQ -> Black

Anyway. It was fun and the gift a nice verve picture.

Re: With verve into the light

One more :D
This time in full size 4992x3000 to get the real thing :D
HQ was not possible, slightly despeckle in photoshop to remove white spots.
Compressed down from 42MB PNG to 3,8MB JPG

Stairs in some brush strokes are not caused by resolution. I made pretty fast moves?!

Wow. Very nice result, Knacki! :ob Something like a view through hair from the head. In case the head is not bald

Your result reminds me that I have to create a new abstract in Verve again! :)
