It is an example of so called "TSP art" (art constructed by solving instances of the Traveling Salesman Problem) with a playout on Verve (and a bit of photoshop color shift on selections).
I did not tire myself a lot because i found all the necessary tools off-the-shelve (freewares) : I used StippleGen2 to generate a stippled image of the celtic disc image that I found on the internet, then Concorde to get the precious closed TSP path (StippleGen2 could not achieve a closed path), then Processing (as usual !) to move the mouse pointer above Verve according to the path.

That's so fascinating, Gbo, crazy! I'd almost want to see this played out with a little bit of fluidity, maybe no curl...lot's of fluid smudge or some other setting... could be fascinating, too... or totally silly, who knows.

Thanks Pilou for the tool to make my own knots, and Taron for kind interest ! -> With more liquity (and painting instead of erasing) the path is melting with itself : I don't know...

Yep, ancient metal was my first idea actually ! but i was not happy with the results -> i may give another try ! By the way I tried also the FLUID: CURLS 0% as you suggested and i like the output very much, it's like ink printed on the wrong paper :

Yeah, like a worn stamp of sorts. Interesting! Have you turned fluid sharpness to 0%, too? Should be a bit different?! I also wonder what it would...oh, man, there are so many possibilities...nevermind. ...it's just cool!

Thanks Knacki, you're welcome. By the way software-versed guys and gals, i always put my Processing sketches on-line, feel free to have a glance (or even use it - if you can, because it's a bit messy...) : http://www.gbotet.fr/vrv16/P/ (2016) http://www.gbotet.fr/vrv/p/ (earlier work, mostly displayed on viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1787) rgds, GBoGBo
