Re: Suggestions

I don't follow, I'm afraid? Do you mean a separate color for the window background? Currently it's an offset version of the canvas background. I thought it's kind of nice to work with, since it is only for the work process and not the final image, you know.

Re: Suggestions

Simply to be able to change the window background colour separatley from the canvas background colour.
Currently they are one and the same.
If I select black and hit p then everything turns black...including area around the canvas...in fact there is no indication of canvas border.
It would be preferable to be able to choose a neutral background around the canvas area.

I realize I could simple create an extra layer below my painting and fill it with black but that just adds extra overhead to process.

Re: Suggestions

Oh, yeah, that's strange, because I had it originally that it would switch to a brighter color after a certain threshold. I have to check what happened there!? :?

Better yes.....on a black background...at least I can see the canvas
But if you want to use a bright colour for canvas back it really throws you off...hard to judge true brush colours

The preference would obviously be to simply select your own background window colour...in this case grey
Or for the window background colour to remain a neutral 50% grey regardless of canvas background colour.
I dont see the value of having it match the canvas.

Re: Suggestions

Hi Taron!
For some reason my first post does not appear or will remain unread for Eternity, so i try again :D : would it be difficult for you to implement a flat brush where the starting angle of the hair would be fixed and settable with precision, such as:
Image
or even better, controllable during the stroke independently from the direction of the stroke itself ?

Watermedia artists such as Sterling Edwards often use big flat brushes with razor sharp edges and the results are great:

And for thicker oil-like painting, we could mimic palette knife effects with a flat brush with controllable angle.
In addition, using the barrel rotation of the Wacom Art Pen would be a natural way of controlling the angle and rotation of the brush barrel during the stroke, and a great add-on to your wonderful program.

Thanks for your feedback Taron.

Best regards,
GBoGBo

Re: Suggestions

Hey GBoGBo, welcome to the forum then...sorry I missed your first post?!
I'll unify the brush system eventually, where you can set such features properly. I already have pen tilt rather than stroke direction on various brushes, but it's all still rough.
I'm totally with you, though!
Oh, Edwards has a nice style, great one for the Inspirations thread, too!
Thanks for your suggestion and stay tuned, hehe! :D
