I know what it is, but you can help me confirm it. Where you painting with pressure sensitivity on both size and opacity?

(dang, I can't reproduce it, which tells me that this has a fix to it in some form already. Can you tell me what you were doing to get this and can you recreate it, too?) :? :|

Also, please, add specs for your graphics card! :geek:

I usually paint with pressure sensitivity on just opacity. I think I was using brush 9 with reduced bristle count when this happened. I wonder if this might actually be indicative of a hardware problem because I think I'm the only one experiencing this.

Re: Feedback for v0.99v...

Well, let me know when it happens again, please! You know now what to remember. :)
I'm sure that newer cards have a number of improvements, which might be why I can't recreate it anymore. It's not too alarming to me, because I didn't make that mistake. It's a flaw on the card's coding...the drivers, really. OH, that's a mild bit of hope, you could always try to update the driver, too, see if there's anything new.

Anyhow...it's one big maneuver of avoiding hardware nonsense, when everything is logically correct, but the fact that it's a paint application asks for stuff they didn't think about then. Now it's a bit different, though, because so many applications rely on openGL. In short: Things are getting better either way! Soon it will only be about ideas! :)

Re: Feedback for v0.99v...

Just some quick thoughts on the M key...no biggie...

It was really nice to be able to flick GLOW + mode ( colour related ) on and off with the M key while I was painting...very useful on the fly
That is no longer possible as it cycles through the modes....:(

Also...feels like Absolute and Accumulative ( volume related ) should be its own key toggle to flick on and off.

Finally...since there is a glow (additive) mode....does it not make sense to have a multiply brush mode for watercolour and marker type effect where strokes darken on top of each other

LOVE the new Absolute mode!!!!! very useful

Re: Feedback for v0.99v...

Yes, I would love a multiply mode, but haven't yet manage to do that successfully with my code logic, why ever. Seems so trivial, but it really isn't!
Eventually I will figure it out, though, I promise!

The [m] cycling is simple and logical in a way and really just a matter of getting used to, I think. I wouldn't condemn it just yet, only because it's "new", you know. In reality when you paint, you normally don't switch those around like that. That's kind of a "fun" thing to do, but by no means a necessity, if I may dare say that. HOWEVER, I will figure out a way to allow more complex customization later on, including such specific toggles. Might be cool! Maybe toggles for entire brush settings, you know. One key and you can switch between oil and fire, hahaha, watercolor and neon lights? Anyway...I would find that entertaining, too. :)

You really make even me forget that this version is just a temporary "throw-away" version. The real new version will be so brutally different and much more pliable to the user's desires, if I manage to do what I have planned to do. So...please, don't make me screw around too much inside this version.

How do you like the new {clear} and [fill] buttons?! :D

Funny indeed! (with a little part of a famous Eward H painting)
I am not sure even with seven lives to explore all the possibilities! :D
Just something !
How do you block the "tilted image" in a certain position ?

Re: Feedback for v0.99v...

I hear ya Taron
This is a LOVE ME AS I AM version of Verve lol!
and Love it I will !@#$%

As for mask buttons.....
I am quite comfortable with the keys for clearing and filling the mask so the buttons are not a big deal for me
but its nice to have the simple clarity of having those there....might as well add an i button for invert while your at it.
Masking is wonderful now....I love the feature of picking up layer material as a mask source
....only thing I would add is option for Mask Visibility while painting.....to see where the mask is....ghost image or something...option to flick on or off..
Along the same line....I would love the ability in future to simply LOCK a layers alpha and continue to paint on the layer....this is a wonderful thing!

As for the M button....its not a request...just a thought really
Intuitivley I see the absolute and accumulative modes as a material function
and the glow or multiply modes as a colour function.....thats all.

And while Im on it I should say the fluids are behaving rather wonderfully
I assume youve been tweaking things in the background..
when you get the settings just right its absolutley mind blowing how natural and visceral it feels
Still NOTHING like it on the market!

Re: Feedback for v0.99v...

Ah great, yes, agreed...not sure why I took the mask display off altogether. Strange. :?

As for Pilou: I think you mean [a] to lock the rotation of the brush and [shift]+[a]+[LMB] to adjust the rotation angle freely and [shift]+[a]+[RMB] to snapped rotation angles. Also, I've added one more for the image rotation using [ctrl] instead of [shift], but I just noticed that it only shows it interactively, if you're on Brush #0!!! :? VERY STRANGE!!! I have to investigate, but I'm totally beat right now. Tomorrow I'll be off for 3 days...so...it'll have to wait until 2016.
Weird, though. Not sure what I've changed, but I'll find it! :ugeek:

Oh yes, same to you!
(I posted a tiny fix, by the way, but it's just for the display of the brush image, if you use pressure for animation)

Brush Bias now produces a flat brush ( instead of a crescent moon...which was pretty but...)
Awsome!
