Re: Feedback Verve(v0.99v.14)

Hey taron,

don't wanna report a bug - just wanna give you a hug.
Very lovely. Finally I had time to go through those colour swatches.
A - MA - ZING work it is!
Again a some very intelligent rethinking.

My 2 cents about all those palette freaks who wanna fill their canvas with billions of random swatches :D
Take i.e. Pilous last screenshot and import it into verve. (You can even make it smaller in another prog before.)
Place pic somewhere in corner on one extra top layer and use ALT to pick colour.
Now you have a colour swatch family living on your canvas. You don't even have to switch layer.

The swatches are more something to organize basic tones imho.

Second possibility- because I really do miss the reason for having hundreds of swatches done from one painting, sorry - import the painting and colour pick directly from it.

Basicly it should be enough to have just a few tones, the rest will come while blending.

I was affraid that this format was only for my 2D prog!
Bravo! :ob

Does it possible to have directly 16 "round folders" of 16 Swatches ? :geek:

Re: Feedback Verve(v0.99v.14)

Well, it's TOO LATE NOW! ...import of both PAL formats is working! ;)
I really, really don't understand it either, really. Thing is, I find it intimidating to look at massive amounts of colors to which I have no connection to, you know. If you pick them yourself, you kinda know what they're for, but if you see a million of them... (or 256)... it's just wickedness.
Not to mention that Verve is really the absolute master of blending, main reason for why I wrote this in the first place. So...when you work that way, you do not need too many colors to get everything you want, needless to mention "Chroma Smudge", which is yet another reason for why such elaborate pallets are not necessary.

Anyhow...there it is! :)

Re: Feedback Verve(v0.99v.14)

I don't understand that question?
You mean, you want arbitrarily 16 swatch lists, each with 16 swatches?
That's just... omg, give me a break, please! :PP

Clarification: NO!

Re: Feedback Verve(v0.99v.14)

Maybe crossing post I had General error of Servor! :?
And my last image above has taken a mysterious way !

Yes The Knacky trick above can also works: simple copy an image of a palett somewhere
but then why have an elaborated Swatches system for not use it ? :)

When you save a Vrv project file seems Swatches are not saved with it! Does this normal ?

The palett of the "image above" of the Verve Screen programm with your new task above!

Re: Feedback Verve(v0.99v.14)

you already have import of two different formats. Verve is first and foremost Verve and not some pallet management tool. I will add a bit more into it, but stuff that is really important and cool! Not...eh...not cool. :?

One can get lost in "what if"s and other specifics for any given topic. It's important to keep the mind clear for the whole thing, you know. c:!

Re: Feedback Verve(v0.99v.14)

Following my parallal research (for Sketchup) i had success!
(i search a trick for convert the Palett .PAL in list of Hexa !)
I had believed that was easy to find directly that online but have no luck this time ! :PP

So my trick
Launch my Previous free Editor Palett given above
http://www.gbadev.org/tools.php?showinfo=133

Load the file ".PAL"
Save as "Jasc.pal" format

Load this other free Palette editor (this one don't reload the other PAl format except the Jasc!
http://www.cyotek.com/downloads/info/se ... 5-beta.exe

Reload the "jasc.pal" saved
Save as TXT format

you will obtain something like this, (and bingo for me  )

; Paint.NET Palette File
; Lines that start with a semicolon are comments
; Colors are written as 8-digit hexadecimal numbers: aarrggbb
; For example, this would specify green: FF00FF00
; The alpha ('aa') value specifies how transparent a color is. FF is fully opaque, 00 is fully transparent.
; A palette must consist of ninety six (96) colors. If there are less than this, the remaining color
; slots will be set to white (FFFFFFFF). If there are more, then the remaining colors will be ignored.
FF13121D
FF218908
FF06888F
FF04118E
FF25C70C
FF0F5093
FF18CA91
FF0850CF
FF22520C
... etc

What a labyrinthic way for very simple things! :D
And now 2 new tools for edit Paletts if needing for Verve! ;)
