Inking and dynamic lines

I have a bit of trouble getting dynamic and nice lines with brush 6, im getting those weird jumps from large circle to small circle which looks odd, is there any setting that will get rid of this ? I marked it with green circles here:
Image
Im looking for smooth path from big to tiny line , i dont know but i suspect there isnt enough circles in brush to interpolate between large and small size when doing fast strokes ? it works better when i do slow strokes but as we know you are supposed to do fast lines cause theyre very smooth if you do it fast and when you slowdown then they become a bit jaggy. And its just how im used to work, fast lines are more confident but i get these bumps from large to small in verve.
Im working on bamboo wacom tablet.Does anyone have similar issue when creating fast strokes with brush 6 ?

Re: Inking and dynamic lines

Ah, yeah, next version will be better! This still had to do with other troubles, most of which will be less troublesome in the upcoming version! ;)

Explanation was fluids and especially brush#9. The way I've had it thus far, the entire routine was refreshed with the 60Hz of the monitor. That means, it also just got the state changes of pen or mouse in those intervals. As a result you could not lift the pen without it contracting, if you had size based on pressure. With fluids on this would be particularly troublesome. So I tried a few countermeasures back then.
Right now I've just changed my entire procedure to be MUCH MORE responsive, still with a tiny interval, but super tight around your current input. This allows for more controlled pressure changes. In other words: All will be better! 8-)

Oh, in the meantime, though, and that may become relevant to you either way: MOUSE SPEED!
Check the little dial called "MOUSE SPEED", two dials left of the color wheel. With it you can soften your stroke, also softening pressure input. Set it to 50% for a test, for example!

Re: Inking and dynamic lines

I tried it and it helped a bit but still its noticeable, especially if i turn on opacity and size based on pressure, you can see there is sudden drop in opacity where line gets too blurry at the end when its size drops down

I tried mouse speed 25 and its still happens when i make fast strokes but when i adapt to actual mouse speed and do the lines veeery slow then lines are like they should be, but its harder to draw precisely this way when you dont know where you started the line and how big/small it becomes cause it lags a bit.

Re: Inking and dynamic lines

Ah, yes, and that's a BIIIIIIG problem with #6. Something for which I have to change something dramatically. I recommend using #6 really only for drawing and not for painting. Though possible, it has troubles. I will have to implement my spline code to #7 and #8, too, for this kind of drawing to be perfect. And I will. However, those are ribbons, while #6 draws countless circles.

Everything appears to be some sort of trade off currently, while I know how to get to an ideal, but it's tricky stuff. Hang in there and work with Verve's strengths, if you can! I will work it all out eventually.

Lag, however, will be significantly less in the next version!
